Over Rated and disappointing.

Posted Feb 5, 2016
Pros: Friendly staff, cool guitar and rock and roll memorabilia. Nice gym, but loud music and half of the cardio machines did not work.
Cons: The veneer of this hotel has been dressed up to make it look and feel cool. Old hotel beneath the veneer and heating/cooling system needs updating!
Location: Great location and proximity to downtown and Starbucks!
When I initially called Expedia to inquire about hotels in Palm Springs I was encouraged to book this hotel and was told it is a 4 star. I subsequently booked online and it has been a huge disappointment. There is no way this is a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the globe and this is a 2.5 - 3 star. It is an old hotel that has been updated but the underlying mechanical systems are old and in desperate need of repair. The heating/cooling system is arcane and cannot be turned up or down without calling engineering who has to come to the room to change the system from hot to cold or cold to hot. So if you can't sleep at 4 am because your room is freezing, you have to wait til 8:30 am when engineering shows up for work. Absolutely outrageous. Other issues: Curtains are ripped letting light in. Had to borrow duct tape from front desk to seal the rips and light. Toilet runs Elevator rumbles to the point of scaring you that you are unsafe. Not very clean, we founds a chewed lime rind on the floor in our room upon check in. Carpets are dirty. Yes, the staff is friendly and lots of cool rock and roll memorabilia and guitar library. However, this is a facade over an outdated and old hotel in desperate need of maintenance and repair. A cool place to come party I assume, but not a quality hotel. The saying goes you get what you pay for. In this case you get less than you pay for and was misled by Expedia into thinking this was a 4 star.

Location was the only good thing

Posted Jan 23, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Room quality
Location: Walking distance to downtown and eating establishments.
The location and proximity to the Main Street in Palm Springs was the only good thing about this hotel. The room was at best ok. One of the lamps were broken, the coffee maker did not work, it was dark in the room because the lighting was so bad. They charged a $40/night resort fee which was ridiculous for the amenities. There was no one in the restaurant. Overall we were pretty disappointed. The valets were the only bright spot. They were friendly, helpful, and very pleasant.

Ok hotel. just ok

Posted Jan 22, 2016
The good: The hotel is situated within walking distance to tons of stuff downtown. The rooms are nice and big and the balcony is nice. The daytime bell/parking lot guys were awesome and the shuttle they offer is a nice touch. The Bad: The pool is only open until 8pm and the hot tub was overrun with babies in diapers. Gross. The woman at the front desk was a real piece of work. Flipping out and snapping at me when I asked about the pool hours. Our room was falling apart. The safe didn't work, the wallpaper is peeling off all over and the place stunk like mildew the moment you get off the elevator. The smell of pot on our floor one night was overwhelming. A bridal party hotboxed the whole second floor. There are no pop machines on property and no where to buy one on property as the store never seemed to be open. The hotel rules state you can not bring any outside food or drink on property so the no pop machine thing seems ridiculous. Bottled water? impossible to find on site. I loved Palm Springs, but I will never stay at this dungheap again,

Nice hotel, but a great location. Well within walking distance to about everything. Would definitely stay there again. The valet attendants were very helpful with directions and input.

Probably a cool place if you don't need to sleep

Posted Dec 30, 2015
Pros: Was really easy to point and talk to my son about rock-n-roll memorabilia. The gym has everything to get in a decent workout.
Cons: Request a room facing the inside of the hotel's pool area. Extra $42 resort fee not included with Expedia booking -- $139 room turned into $259
Really disappointing stay. I thought Hard Rock would be a cool place to take my 15 year old son. Room 242 - sits on top of a back entrance which was the most disappointing part. Not many people used it but we heard every one -- from people banging on the door to screaming profanities. The bathroom could have been much cleaner. Internet was unusable.
