Good for active folks out all day

Posted Feb 3, 2016
Pros: The location is great - away from the congestion and noise of downtown. I like the basic layout of the hotel. The property is kept neat and clean.
Cons: The furniture and fixtures in the room could be updated. More thought and effort should be put into what makes a functioning bathroom.
Location: This is centrally located on major routes in PS and so great for quick exits to Joshua Tree National Park or to many of the hiking trails in the area.
This is my second time at the Ivy. Pool area is nice. Rooms are basic and clean and comfortable and perfect for active visitors who spend days out hiking or golfing or poolside and just want a place to sleep at night. Probably not for those seeking high end luxury accommodations or the picky or neat freaks. Toilet ran on this visit (handle jiggle) and shower curtain seemingly wasn't water proof so the bathroom floor got soaked. Power was out overnight and until about noon the next day due to city maintenance but guests (this one, anyway) weren't informed of the disruption (a note under the door would have been helpful). Positives include free breakfast, parking and wifi. No resort fees, I believe. Staff are generally helpful and friendly. Grounds are neat and clean. There's a good selection of restaurants nearby.

don't leave anything in the hotel, they will steal

I left my watch with its box and called them after few hours and talked to many of them. they even checked their trashes, but they told me that can't find it. it was a luxury watch in the 6 by 6 in box and they said they can't find it.

Nice stay

Posted Jan 26, 2016
Staff was great at check in, didn't experience any major issues. The lock on our room door didn't work when we checked in but the staff responded quickly and moved us to a new room, I put no blame on the staff, this stuff happens. Overall the room was clean. The beds were not very comfortable. My only other gripe would be the carpeting, there was seams that need repairs around the sink area/bathroom. Overall the location was great and the room affordable. I would stay here again if I wanted a more affordable option vs. a luxury option.

Bed was terrible

Posted Dec 27, 2015
We paid for a standard room with a king bed but we couldn't sleep the 2 nights we spend there and got a backache! We could feel the box springs! Not good at all. Other than that the rest of the facilities was ok.

We got what we expected from this budget older hotel. Breakfast was good. Rooms need updating. But good location and close to downtown.
