Waterfall in Tahquitz Canyon (in Palm Springs, California). The Palm Springs Art Museum has some great exhibits on mid century architecture (no photography allowed inside I'm afraid). The whole town looks like an episode of the Jetson's.
Ps February is the best time to go if you're weak to the heat like me. This is a seriously unique and hip hotel created out of an old Howard Johnson motel. Outdoor fireplaces and couches outside most rooms. Turntables and vinyl. Canvas wallpaper. Retro art galore. A fun HQ for a high-desert getaway. 5:51 am Lykken Trail #goldenhour #sunrise #hiking This is hidden treasure right next to Palm Springs. Native Americans settled in these beautiful canyons 2,000 years ago. Even in the midst of the California drought, the water is flowing through these canyons and feeding the fan palms. There is a huge trail network through here. Go for a hike and imagine what it would have been like to be the first human beings to discover this desert oasis. Seriously tasty and creative bfast in the midst of the ever-hip diner of the ACE Hotel. Pictured here is the coffee cake French toast. Dig in! Just off of Palm Canyon Drive The sun is setting but still burning. Vintage vinyl in every room! Slow cooked spiced apple crepe at hidden French Cafe The Farm in historic Palm Springs #Delicious The pollo alla parmegiana is fantastic!! The foccacia bread Amd balsamic & olive oil they serve before u order is the best ever. Yummy mojitos as well. Great atmosphere, they have a patio with mist cooling (as most places in the Palm Springs do). Friendly, good service perfectly timed as well. If you want a really great reasonably priced meal go to Kalura Trattoria!! The colors of Tahquitz Canyon (Palm Springs, California). An easy hike with information markers about the native tribes that inhabited the area. Bonus-- it was in the shade in the morning! #lifeatexpedia
🌴🌵🥂🍻 The view by the Elrod House. Thwarted by the gate. Quick trip to Palm Springs. #lifeatexpedia Very good pizza and nice atmosphere for family dinner. Snapped this shot as I was leaving my hotel in PS. The sky with the building, palm trees, and flowers all caught my eye and blended well together. No filter!
The Lykken trail can be accessed from the north and south. I like the South Trailhead. This is a good climb with almost a thousand feet of elevation gain in 1.5 miles. At the top, there are picnic tables, great views of Palm Springs and Tahquitz Canyon. If you think this trail is steep, the $12.50 per person admission to hike Tahquitz might seem even steeper. #hiking #Colorful : Sunrise et Indian Canyon, Palm Springs Great place to eat in Palm Springs!
