I wouldn't stay again because of the checkout time.

The hotel messed up our booking first and then they accommodated us in their sister property which is basically an extension of the same property, just worse. Half the lights did not work nor did the main lock!

Hideaway by the Lake-

Posted May 15, 2017
Pros: Quiet and close to many things
Cons: additional vanity area for a second person to get ready- mirror and electrical and a seating area
Location: close to Old Town and great restaurants on 111
This is a beautiful small quaint property. The eating area outside is lovely and relaxing. the rooms could use a second place for a person to get ready when two are in the double room.. separate mirror and electrical outlet would be handy... outside seating was nice and view of water was very nice as well... Nice getaway weekend...

A small but very modern chic hotel.

Posted Apr 29, 2017
Pros: Lovely furniture, comfortable bed and new bathroom. The pool was one of the warmest I've used, no catching your breath when you first get in.
Cons: I'm not sure valet parking is essential for residents but maybe that was because there were very few quests when we were there.
Location: Close to La Quinta and all the desert communities, a car is essential though as is the case of all desert locations.
We stayed 4 nights and loved being in this modern comfortable hotel. There were a few problems on arrival as they were clearing up after a corporate event however the manager Chris was very apologetic and offered us complementary breakfast for our full stay. A very generous offer which was much appreciated as the breakfasts were wonderful. There was some overnight disturbance by contractors replacing flooring in reception but again Chris was very apologetic and gave us our last night free of charge. I've got to say all the staff were delightful and very polite. Most of them were mid twenties and it was obvious they loved their jobs. Thanks to all of them for making our stay so enjoyable.

LUXURY AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE

Posted Apr 12, 2017
Pros: Luxury, Intimate, location price
Cons: Some minor maintenance issues, nothing serious.
Location: The Chateau is on a beautiful lake. La Quinta is a quality town/suburb close to everything. Palm Springs is about 35 minutes on the 111
The Chateau is special. The location next to the lake is just sublime. The fact that this is a boutique resort makes it feel more intimate. Our accommodation was luxurious and had a balcony with such a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom perfect and the room was very quiet with no noise from other rooms or the resort. The Chateau has an excellent restaurant with surprisingly reasonable prices. Secure parking was not a problem. And, La Quinta has a good selection of restaurants to try. We travelled from Australia to stay at The Chateau for 3 nights and it was a highlight of our vacation.

Too expensive compared to the the similar hotels

Posted Apr 10, 2017
Our room was right next to the hotel restaurant and when we walked in it was like we had 20 guests in our room. The restaurant closes at 9pm and there's no room service after that. Mosquitos were all over the ceiling and we spent an hour "chasing/killing" them. The outside lights were all out after 11pm and even if you sit in the balcony, you won't be able to enjoy the view that you paid for. Anyways I would pay max $100 instead of $375 a night!!!

Hotel for a Relaxing Vacation

Posted Apr 3, 2017
Pros: It is small and well maintained. The location is excellent and close to everything. The view of the lake is lovely and relaxing. Staff was friendly.
Cons: Refrig. was too cold and froze everything. Restaurant very pricey. Resort fee was pretty high. Only two newpapers for all guests.
Location: Located in La Quinta which is on the south end of the Coachella valley. Lots of entertainment and restaurants nearby but far from Palm Springs proper
We needed a break from the rain in Oregon and stayed at the Chateau in late March 2017. The hotel is small and is located on a man made lake in a residential area. They have a busy restaurant on site. We stayed in the older part of the hotel, which was nicely maintained. They have a small pool area which we used daily and was often deserted except for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have valet parking because the parking lot is small and there is traffic for the restaurant. Housekeeping was efficient and effective. We had a coffee maker and refrigerator in our room, so we got breakfast food and snacks, which was nice. We loved the whole experience.

Beautiful lake and restaurant but room was MEH.

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: Lake and restaurant were nice. Hotel staff were also pleasant. It was very close to the BNP Paribas Open.
Cons: I should of been informed that the room was handicap accessible. Had to place towels on the wet bathroom floor just to use the toilet. Yuck.
Location: The tennis venue for the BNP Paribas Open is very convenient.
So, the photos of this place are stunning. I had my choice of 2 other hotels nearby but was wowed by the lake. Our booking was last minute because of an Expedia snafu. We were given the "handicap" room unbeknownst to us. Once in the room, we saw that the shower/toilet was all one tiled room. When we showered, the water went everywhere. If you wanted to use the toilet, you had to stand in wet puddles. The sink was by the bed area. I understand why this room was configured this way but, it was weird for us and inconvenient. I was upset and disappointed that I wasn't told that this would be the "handicapped" room...I wouldn't have booked this hotel if I had known. The restaurant inside the 24 room boutique hotel is nice and it's romantic to dine on the patio overlooking the lake. If you stay here, just make sure you don't get the room we got unless you need this type of layout. It was a real bummer. For the price of this room, it was not worth it.
