LUXURY AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE

Posted Apr 12, 2017
Pros: Luxury, Intimate, location price
Cons: Some minor maintenance issues, nothing serious.
Location: The Chateau is on a beautiful lake. La Quinta is a quality town/suburb close to everything. Palm Springs is about 35 minutes on the 111
The Chateau is special. The location next to the lake is just sublime. The fact that this is a boutique resort makes it feel more intimate. Our accommodation was luxurious and had a balcony with such a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom perfect and the room was very quiet with no noise from other rooms or the resort. The Chateau has an excellent restaurant with surprisingly reasonable prices. Secure parking was not a problem. And, La Quinta has a good selection of restaurants to try. We travelled from Australia to stay at The Chateau for 3 nights and it was a highlight of our vacation.

Too expensive compared to the the similar hotels

Posted Apr 10, 2017
Our room was right next to the hotel restaurant and when we walked in it was like we had 20 guests in our room. The restaurant closes at 9pm and there's no room service after that. Mosquitos were all over the ceiling and we spent an hour "chasing/killing" them. The outside lights were all out after 11pm and even if you sit in the balcony, you won't be able to enjoy the view that you paid for. Anyways I would pay max $100 instead of $375 a night!!!

Hotel for a Relaxing Vacation

Posted Apr 3, 2017
Pros: It is small and well maintained. The location is excellent and close to everything. The view of the lake is lovely and relaxing. Staff was friendly.
Cons: Refrig. was too cold and froze everything. Restaurant very pricey. Resort fee was pretty high. Only two newpapers for all guests.
Location: Located in La Quinta which is on the south end of the Coachella valley. Lots of entertainment and restaurants nearby but far from Palm Springs proper
We needed a break from the rain in Oregon and stayed at the Chateau in late March 2017. The hotel is small and is located on a man made lake in a residential area. They have a busy restaurant on site. We stayed in the older part of the hotel, which was nicely maintained. They have a small pool area which we used daily and was often deserted except for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have valet parking because the parking lot is small and there is traffic for the restaurant. Housekeeping was efficient and effective. We had a coffee maker and refrigerator in our room, so we got breakfast food and snacks, which was nice. We loved the whole experience.

Beautiful lake and restaurant but room was MEH.

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: Lake and restaurant were nice. Hotel staff were also pleasant. It was very close to the BNP Paribas Open.
Cons: I should of been informed that the room was handicap accessible. Had to place towels on the wet bathroom floor just to use the toilet. Yuck.
Location: The tennis venue for the BNP Paribas Open is very convenient.
So, the photos of this place are stunning. I had my choice of 2 other hotels nearby but was wowed by the lake. Our booking was last minute because of an Expedia snafu. We were given the "handicap" room unbeknownst to us. Once in the room, we saw that the shower/toilet was all one tiled room. When we showered, the water went everywhere. If you wanted to use the toilet, you had to stand in wet puddles. The sink was by the bed area. I understand why this room was configured this way but, it was weird for us and inconvenient. I was upset and disappointed that I wasn't told that this would be the "handicapped" room...I wouldn't have booked this hotel if I had known. The restaurant inside the 24 room boutique hotel is nice and it's romantic to dine on the patio overlooking the lake. If you stay here, just make sure you don't get the room we got unless you need this type of layout. It was a real bummer. For the price of this room, it was not worth it.

Lake View Questionable

Posted Mar 8, 2017
Pros: Location on lake
Cons: For the rather high price of the room we had minimal view of the lake from Room 102.
Convenient to La Quinta and Palm Springs area activities and restaurants. Great restaurant and bar. Rooms are nice but not the caliber one would expect for the price of the room.

Don't prepay!

Posted Mar 5, 2017
Pros: The lake view.
Cons: Training the front staff to be more welcoming and showing the guests the features of the room, i.e., how to use the heater.
I took advantage of your choice to prepay or pay when you check in. I should have chosen the later because they hit my card for even though I told them I had prepaid. The next morning the clerk at the desk was asked to call our bank and reverse the charges. Another big factor, room was not worth what we paid for - it was more like a closet. Lastly, they can't assume guests know how to use the thermostat. It was preset on the A/C and it ran all night - needless to say a sleepless night. It was not easy to use.

Beautiful Chateau Lake La Quinta

Posted Mar 5, 2017
Pros: The location is excellent for the La Quinta Art Fair, a short drive away. The hotel seems a world away from the activities with its lake location.
Location: The La Quinta Art Fair is just a 5 minute drive away as well as restaurants and services.
Chateau Lake La Quinta Inn is a beautiful surprise with its mountain and lake vistas. Once you are at the hotel the friendlyservice oriented staff take over making check-in easy, valet parking convenient, house keeping tidy and restaurant staff proud of the food. The overall environment makes for a perfect desert get away.
