Posted Nov 8, 2016
Pros: I found it perfectly located from the events we attended. Close enough to get to our events but far enough we didn't hear the noise.
Cons: One elevator was working was the ONLY negative I have.
Location: Oh the Tram up to San Jacinto Park was amazing!!! So beautiful

Really not very nice or accommodating

Posted Nov 1, 2016
Pros: Large rooms but sparsely furnished not even a clock in the room
Cons: Housekeeping staff should actually clean When we got back to our room it hadn't been made up.
Checked in late on a Saturday night. Desk clerk could plainly see I am a senior citizen and I was having some difficulty walking. She checked me in and gave me a map of the property and she drew a line from the Lobby to the building we were in. I got back in my car and followed her map it. It took me down a dark unlighted alley. none of the buildings had numbers that could be seen from the car. Fortunately I had a large flashlight in the car. There was practically no parking near the building I managed to grab the last handicapped spot that someone had just vacated. My wife and I grabbed our bags and a woman who happened to be outside smoking showed us how to get in. Once inside we learned that our room was on the second floor. This would be alright if there was an available elevator. The closest and only elevator was several corridors away we had to walk to the complete other end of this rather large building go up and then walk all the way back to the corner we started from just to get to our room. in the morning we decided to go to the pool. This has the potential to be a very nice area it was however littered with used towels the tables and chairs had not been cleaned and were covered with remnants of spilled drinks and there were no fresh towels to be had. This was at 11:00am the pool opens at 7:00am I called the desk and was told that they would send towels. They did a handful so again there were no towels. the old towels were just left there

Hi Art- First and foremost, we appreciate the feedback you’ve kindly provided about your experience at our Resort. Our guest rooms do offer sufficient space, and we’re sorry that we missed to replenish the MP3 Player in your guest room. On that note, our housekeeping department feels terrible that your room was not serviced. We’ve given your comments to the department so they may provide any necessary coaching to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. We also spoke with the front desk in regards to your arrival experience. We know that the layout of the property can be tricky, especially at night, and we regret not assisting you properly. We are sorry for not asking if the second floor was suitable for you and your wife, and we’re embarrassed that you witnessed our pool deck under that condition and for the lack of amenities. This is not acceptable, and we appreciate you letting us know about your experience so we can correct these issues immediately with the corresponding departments. I know that we will improve on the areas that we missed while you were our guest, and I trust that you will give us a second chance to prove this to you. Please let us know when you’re traveling back to our city, and we’ll make certain that both of you feel well accommodated!

The bathroom doors had a one inch gap even when closed, not a ton of privacy. Very thin walls, could hear the children next door crying at all hours of the night.

Hello Jared- Thank you for writing to us about your recent experience at the Riviera! On your next visit, we will certainly make sure that privacy is not a concern. It is true that sound proofing can be a bit challenging in some areas around the hotel, but this is due to the original structure when the hotel was first built. Please mention this to us on your next booking, and we’ll be happy to find an enjoyable location. We look forward to seeing you return soon!

Fun hotel, with some kinks to be worked out

Posted Oct 4, 2016
Cons: Housekeeping could be improved, the elevators to our building smelled really funky, and there could be clearer directions for the layout of the hotel
Location: The Buzz Trolley is RIGHT there! Makes it so easy to get around town. Also, the spa is amazing and the best amenity there.
A friend and I went to celebrate our birthdays. The entrance to the hotel is pretty impressive with the velvet chairs, the variety of little seating areas in the lobby each differently decorated, and a view of the pool as you walk into the hotel. However, upon check-in, since there was a bit of a line, the concierge kind of rushed to check us in- he gave us the room keys, gave us a map without a word and sent us on our merry way. Clearly not having been there before, we didn't know how to get to our room since it was the furthest building from the lobby. It's not a standard layout so we got a little lost, however when we found it, the room itself was decorated nicely. One issue though was that the toilet was broken, they had a maintenance guy come and fix it, but it was then continuously making sounds throughout the trip. Both pools are impressive and fun. One of the days we were there, though, housekeeping didn't get to our room until about 4pm, when we were getting ready for dinner, so we declined since we were back in the room after a day out. The staff is generally very helpful. Overall I'm on the fence as to whether or not I would stay here again after all of the quirks that had happened.

Hi- First of all, thank you very much for celebrating your birthdays with us and for providing your feedback to help us improve on our service. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your trip despite of the flaws you encountered throughout your stay; however, it’s our priority to ensure that we iron out the hitches that prevented you from experiencing an exceptional stay. On that note, I’m sorry about the rushed check-in experience and the housekeeping deficiencies you faced throughout your stay. It’s not at all how we want our guests to feel when they first arrive, nor the housekeeping impression we like our guests to leave with. We hope you’ll give us an opportunity in the future to make up for these blemishes and truly show you that we’re capable of delivering outstanding service. Thank you for the positive remarks you’ve also shared about our staff and amenities; and you can be certain that the Spa will be thrilled to hear that they were superb! We’ll look forward to welcoming you back to our Resort, and this time it will be a flawless stay from beginning to end!

Hi lyn- Thank you for sharing your feedback from your most recent stay at our Resort. I’m sorry to hear that your guest room bathroom failed to impress you and lacked cleanliness. We’ve tasked our Engineering team to assess the bathroom sink, and our housekeeping manager has received your comments and will review them with her team to ensure proper room and hallway inspections are done correctly. We hope that you will give us a second chance in the future to make up for our hiccups and prove to you that the Riviera can deliver great service in all areas.

Run far, far away

Posted Sep 9, 2016 on Orbitz
The is in the middle of a remodel, or they ran out money, or they just gave up. I don't know but the place is run down and it's so apparent when you enter the hotel building, not the lobby. The lobby makes you think you scored, but really you were bamboozled and stuck. Pay a little more and stay somewhere else. Btw I did kill a roach in the bathroom.
