Nice hotel with good amenities. Charged an insanely high security deposit at check in that was more than my entire booking. Inquired several times with staff and never really received any explaination

Not appropriate for anyone under 21

Posted May 22, 2018
This would be a great hotel IF you were 21 and wanted to party! But, when I arrived at the hotel with my 17 year old daughter at 9pm the halls were lined with empty alcohol bottles and tons of drunk college aged kids and smelled like a stale bar. The following day there was a pool party from 2-6 but thankfully we did not stay, I checked into another hotel where it was more age appropriate. Even the pool staff AND front desk said it was NOT appropriate for my 17 year old to be at the pool and it should have been rated as a 21+ party. Unfortunately it was not advertised and most people travel to Palm Spring and want to spend some time at the pool. Luckily the manager agreed to refund my 3 nights including the one night when we attempted to sleep.

Don’t let the bright colors fool you! The pool is definitely “a scene”, so if you are looking for that, this is your place. Along with a crowded, loud, greasy pool, it also has grumpy front desk people, smelly hallways, stained furniture and hair on the bathroom walls. The positive was the coffee bar and the yoga class; I enjoyed both the quality and the service st those two spots.

Colourful but could use some love

There is no denying, The Saguaro is a beautiful spot with instagram worthy decor. However, I was disappointed at how dingy our room was. Lighting was a big issue, it was impossible to read in bed at night, find something in your suitcase etc. The overall cleanliness was really lacking. The curtains had some awful stains, the walls in the bathroom looked dirty, and the halls had an odour that really wasn’t welcoming. I suspect if you are staying here to party these issues would not bother you, however as a family, we cannot recommend. We decided to stay an extra couple of days in Palm Springs, but moved to a different hotel. I will say, upon check-out we mentioned some of our concerns to the clerk and he was very apologetic and credited us back the resort fee which was appreciated.

The first floor parking lot view wasn't ideal even after asking for a pool facing room and checking in on a thursday when the place was pretty empty. Neither of us thought the bed or the sheets were comfortable, but the room was a good size, and the staff was very friendly especially at the cafe, restaurant and pool bar. The overall hotel was great but be sure to get to the pool on Saturday EARLY (before noon) if you want a place to sit since its packed with lots of non hotel guests as well.

The Saguaro has a wonderful pool area that becomes a genuine party place on weekends, especially when special events take place (e.g., Cinco de Mayo party). On week days, the pool area is more sedate. Future visitors should consider their level of enthusiasm for busy and, often, loud parties if they choose to stay on a weekend; this atmosphere was fine for us but may not be to everyone’s taste.
