We had a mixed experience at this hotel. I would say that the staff's willingness to help us and make our experience better salvaged our stay and allowed us to have a good time. The first room we were assigned was not properly cleaned, it had a sofa with some holes in it and was located in an area that looked like an attic. We talked to the front desk staff and their manager helped us find a more appropriate room. We ended up staying at a suite which was very nice, but still the A/C was leaking and the bathtub was in bad condition. But it was definitely an upgrade and the manager was great.
The pool is small but it is exactly what we need it. Our only complain was that we ordered Mojitos, which we had heard were a specialty, and they did not have the mint to make them!! Also, that night we went to the Amalgama restaurant were we were served by a nice waiter. However, we order Cottonela and after 15 min the waiter came back and told us that they ran out of it. Again, their staff save the experience. They gave us anything we wanted from the menu at the same price of what we had ordered and gave us a free dessert.
The next morning we went for breakfast at the same restaurant and ordered a la carte. We ordered waffles and after 10 minutes, guess what? The waitress came and told us there were no waffles because they do not turn on the waffle maker as most costumers go for the buffet...We then got other items from the menu at the same price.
