Lower income type hotel
Posted Oct 9, 2016
Pros; Cheap room prices. We had to evacuate to this hotel during hurricane and had little choice of hotels.
Based on the room prices, you get what you pay for. The hotel was not disgusting by any means- it was just not the type of hotel that we normally stay.
Cons; Hotel is located in an area of heavy construction (4-6 miles any direction to stores & restaurants) and heavy traffic at entrance. Hard to exit the parking lot during rush-hours. This is an older hotel and shows signs of wear and tear. Our non-smoking rooms had strong "musty" smells.
Woman at check-in was not a friendly person. She did nothing wrong but you would expect more of a welcoming personality at the check-in desk. No lobby area to speak of. Just one small couch and a couple chairs in a corner. The clean continental breakfast room is small and only open from 6:30 am - 9:30 am. Breakfast consisted of Coffee/Juice, Cereal, Muffins or Waffles (One waffle machine with 15 people in line). After the breakfast area closes, you cannot even use the tables and chairs to sit or relax. The gas station next door has a good coffee for early risers. Small pool with two tables-few chairs - pool did look clean. No security in hotel/parking lot. Cleaning lady was extremely nice and did a great job. All of our rooms were properly cleaned. Poorly lit parking area. Back door card security reader not working so anyone can come and go. Landscaping is poor. TV/WiFi worked OK.
Note: If you are on a budget, this hotel will fine.
