Pros: Close to panama canal
Cons: Overstating view from room
Location: Close to panama canal. Didn't see anything else nearby.
View from room of panama was overrated. Taxi service was marginal to Panama Canal. Also, I booked a flight on Expedia four months in advance. When I arrived at the copa counter at airport in panama city to return to lax they gave me a standby ticket and lame excuses such as I didn't reserve a seat. They sent me to check in at terminal and they wouldn't let me on plane. This caused me very much in convince. I left Panama City the Next day after receiving a hotel stay, food, and 2000.00 voucher for future travel on copa. I am still unhappy with service.. Please respond.

Canal View is Great!

Excellent hotel with a very friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffett is wonderful, with a lot of food choices. Hotel is very close to Miraflores Locks on the canal. Great view from rooms facing canal. Two nice restaurants/bars within walking distance. Located in a quiet area, but a short ride away from city center.

Good hotel near Panama Canal

Pros: Excellent breakfast choices most days. Canal view room. Nice pool. Everything worked - all the amenities one would expect in a Holiday Inn.
Location: Delightful little restaurant/bar next door with outside tables! Very near the Panama Canal Visitors Center.
Friendly multi-lingual check-in staff, who also helped with taxis. Excellent room rates on Expedia for part of our stay, including full breakfast. This is the only hotel in the Clayton area of Panama City.

Panama Canal and Miraflores locks

Pros: Clean room. OK for the price.
Cons: Good value for price. Most important is room cleanliness. Need to be crystal clear in its advertising that there in no real view of canal.
Location: Tremendous visit to the Miraflores locks. Hotel would probably gain by being more active towards Panama Panal tourists.
Very convenient for visiting the Miraflores locks. Also just a short Uber ride to the old town. Will stay there again if I come to town.

Nice building and view, but poor customer service

Location: Decent view of the Panama Canal
I am sitting here at the Country Inn and Suits Amador. I have stayed here at least 30 times and never had a issue. From early check in to late check out, never a issue. First, let me explain, I am a seasoned traveler. I travel by motorcycle a lot in Mexico, Central and South America and have stayed in a lot of interesting places. I am not a high end customer and prefer a thatched hut to a fancy restaurant anytime. I more than most know things are different in other countries and you must be able to adapt to them. As for the Holiday Inn.........they need some practice on communication and people skills. My family arrived from Canada, well after the check in time, at around 4:15. After a long day of traveling they were told that their rooms were not ready and will not be ready for a while as they allowed the last people a late check out. At almost 6 they were given the rooms. They did give them a free beer in the lobby while they waited. I flew in later from the peninsula and arrived about 6.30 as they were just settling in. Walls were paper thin it seemed, and everyone had a restless sleep listening to doors banging and people yelling, talking, singing and walking up and down the halls. Ok, next morning, let's eat and get outta here....... 3 of us walked down for breakfast while my wife got ready. We were ushered in and the nice lady waved her arm to the buffet and smiled. Honestly, it was a good buffet. I had a scoop of scrambled eggs and a yogurt and a coffee. The other two

Room change

I paid extra 4 a room overlooking the canal but it was damp, musty an smelly so they kindly moved me 2 a better room but it was at the back of hotel (only one they had left) an it was a nice room.....how ever I originaly have paid more for the canal view room so appreciate a refund of the difference in price please....thankyou.

We've stayed at this hotel many times. It is easy to get to, but doesn't have much in the way of restaurants around it. My complaint this time is that we arrived almost 1 1/2 hours after check in time, and our room was not ready. When we did get into it, there was a dirty towel in the shower. Other than that, the beds are quite comfortable and the shower is nice.
