An excellent value, Palmetto Inn has two types of facilities—a more modern facility on the beach with a variety of accommodations—some with beach views. A 2nd facility across the street with a 1960’s vibe that has been minimally restored. The beach is a short walk across the street thru a private access gate & rooms have an old Florida feel. Cheaper room rates reflect this. Rooms are clean; beds are comfortable & it is my preference. Require more luxury? Look into the facility across the street.
Housekeeping does an excellent job; maintenance responds within minutes to fix a problem. Front desk staff is efficient, professional & helpful.
A heated outdoor pool is located close to the beach and an indoor heated pool is at the older facility. The outdoor pool is surrounded by an open suntanning area with chaises and a couple of covered areas with tables, chairs & outdoor grills. Guests of both facilities can use amenities at either facility.
Winn Dixie grocery is almost next door to the older facility. Located in the center of Panama City Beach, ienjoy restaurants & night life of the Wast beach or the quieter east beach.
No car? Located on the beach trolly line provides public transportation east & west. Famous 3OA beach area with scenic seaside towns is about a 15 mile drive. Nearby Hwy 79 gives a 10mile drive to Ebro’s greyhound races or a longer day trip to I-10 east to Tallahassee or West to Pensacola. Destin Beach’s outlet mall is about an hour away!
