Hotel is getting run down

Posted Jan 8, 2018
Pros: The grounds are nice and having a balcony looking over the jungle was nice.
Cons: Needs updating, large shower but no shelf to put your shampoo or soap. while the balcony was nice there was no chairs so you could not sit out there.
Stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. The over all hotel needs some updating. The carpets in the halls are dirty and worn. The first room we had did not look like it had been cleaned, no toilet paper and dead bugs on the floor. We had to move because the air conditioning started to leak water into the room. The second room was better. we had to go to the reception twice because the room had not been made up. The second time they never did come. The wait staff in the restaurant did not speak English and were not easy to deal with. It was very inconsistent how some things were done. We had given a credit card for room charges, the first time was not an issue charging a meal to the room. The second time they said I could not charge to the room and stood at the door so I could not go talk to reception, I did not have cash or credit on me, the manager let us go but I did not like being bullied like that. The grounds are very nice and good if you are a birder. I don't think I would return.

wonderful get away

Posted Jan 6, 2018
We stayed here for a week the start of our vacation. I will definitely return if I can. It is a few miles out of Panama City but that just makes it more peaceful and better chance of seeing some great birds and wildlife. There is a free shuttle once a day to the Municipal Parque, Miraflores Locks or Albrook Mall. There is also an easy walking trail behind the trail with a butterfly garden. We saw several birds and monkeys from the balcony in our room. Our Spanish speaking is very limited so finding things could be confusing but the staff was very helpful if you asked. The breakfast buffet was included- pretty much the same thing every day but I’m not a breakfast person. Lunch and dinner was excellent and reasonably priced. I tried to add photos but Wi-Fi is limited and they don’t seem to want to load. I also want to thank Cristina with Expedia concierge with helping us figure out the bus system and Luisaura and Enock at the front desk for their help and understanding

Beautiful location and grounds but neglectful mgmt

Posted Jan 4, 2018
Pros: See above.
Cons: Fire the manager and bring in someone new.
Location: Lots to do - City as well as Nature.
This is a hotel that should be one of the most desirable places around Panama City, except that it has been ruined by a management that is utterly incompetent! THIS WAS OUR SECOND TIME THERE AFTER SEVERAL YEARS. The location is fabulous! Close enough to Panama City and yet on the edge of a amazing rain forest preserve. The grounds are stunning with a golf course, two pools and beautiful views. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. But that’s where it ends! The service is miserable. Don’t expect to get food served on time, or to get what you ordered. The quality is also pretty bad. Rooms may not get cleaned till very late. Toilets may not work. Shower water may not drain. If you push them they might upgrade you because they seem to know how badly they are operating, which makes it even more pathetic and mystifying! Where’s the Radisson Corporate Management? Why are they letting such a beautiful property be neglected? Why isn’t someone getting fired?

Location: Nearlby: Summit Zoo + Botanical Garden, Camino Los Cruces Trail, Gamboa docks / Monkey Island boat tours, Panama Discovery Nature Center, Pipeline Rd.
Pros: very comfortable beds, great view of rainforest (requested), excellent value, received late check out, room amenities (fridge, large lit closet, balcony, generous counter space, coffee maker, flat screen tv, free bottled water), two outdoor pools, nature trails, butterfly enclosure. Only con: not close to restaurants other than those in hotel.

False advertising.

Posted Dec 24, 2017
The hotel does not have queen beds (as it appears at my Expedia reservation). The hotel said will change the room description to avoid this mistake in future. We never received a courtesy amenitie that the hotel offer us for the mistake. At the check out time nobody told us anything. Nobody (Staff) had help us to carry the baggages.

A small corner of paradise

Posted Dec 21, 2017
I first went there in 2012 when the hotel was almost new and it's was just amazing. I came back 3 years after and it had shown a lack of maintenance and I mentioned it in my evaluation, but I still loved the place. So this year was my third time and they have really put some resources in improving the overall comfort of the place. To make it short, there is not a better place in Panama for romance: 1-the location is spectacular if you are nature lover. It is surrounded by a dense tropical forest with its accopanying wildlife. We were able to see, for the first time, monkeys. 2- the pool is spectacular, clean and cold enough to compensate for the hot weather. 3- the price is very good if you book in advance. We paid around 50$ x night. 4-the food is very good with affordable prices. 5-if you are a sports person, you will be served as there's train where you can do power walk and they have a small gym. On the down side, if you look at perfection, some of the staff is not well trained but is very very warm and welcoming. I already mentioned this 2 years ago. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and be with his/her partner.

Rainy Week

Posted Dec 4, 2017
Pros: Carlos and the time he takes to help make the stay a great one!!!
Cons: A couple of benches outside by the entrance; more coffee served in the lobby in the morning;
Location: Golf or birding. That is what makes this resort. Natural parks are close as is the canal.
It rained every day of our stay but the birding was still good. Rooms were very clean, staff goes above and beyond to make your stay a good one. The one complaint is the wait for hot water in the shower (sometimes 5 minutes) but it did get hot.
