Has become a rundown hotel today unfortunately. Lots of rust and corrosion throughout, sink didn’t drain. Beautiful views and sounds before 8am, after that hour the golf course maintenance is in full force and loud. I really enjoyed some staff, although others were rude enough to make the experience my last stay here. Pro Tip: Water bottles are unavailable here if requested, tap water or the two bottles of water left in the room is all you have. Best of luck to this facility to keep the hotel alive. Great place to play a round but don’t stay in the hotel until they recover from the income drought they seem to be suffering. Unless you want to invest your hard earned money in their future, head to Gamboa for the forest experience or stay in Panama City and stop in here for a game. Much better golf course than a place to stay.

This property is run down and needs maintenance. My Presidential Suite had old furniture, a sleeping bed that was worth less than 5 cents. No cooperation between the hotel and the restaurant or even getting towels was a hassle. Certainly not worth more than 3 stars. Restaurant has good Food but expect about 1 hour service time. Pools are decent but gym is dirty, old and ill equipped. Location is great but sad they have let it run down like this. Staff is the good thing they have.

Summit was nice. We secured a really good price through Expedia and that compensated for the shortcomings. We enjoyed our stay but had I paid the quoted rate I would have been less enthusiastic. The golf course was nice however the hotel and facilities are showing their age. The location is a bit remote and the shuttle only runs once per day. Traffic can be quite intense due to road repair and the overall number of cars involved in daily traffic. Overall the stay was good.

This was our second stay at Summit. Please please reconsider before booking. Three main issues from our first visit have only become worse. 1.Deferred maintenance (balcony door wouldn't open, hot water didn't work, thermostat malfunctioned). 2. Staff very unhelpful and unfriendly. It's as if we were bothering the reception staff with even simple questions. If you don't speak great Spanish, you will have a difficult time. 3.LOUD PARTIES! This property prioritizes weddings and other events. On our first night this trip, there were three separate weddings happening at the same time, two of which created significant access challenges to the elevators and other amenities. Every single night we've stayed at Summit (4 nights in early 2020 and 2 nights in 2024) there was at least one large, loud event. This property has incredible potential, but the management clearly its priorities (large events trump smaller parties). I would glady pay double the nightly fee for a better maintained property, more helpful and friendly staff and a few less bass-thumping evening parties.

Great location 25 min from the city. Surrounded by nature/jungle. The facilities were comfortable and the pools were good. The place is a little dated. Hot water is unpredictable in the shower. My balcony door with difficult to open. The staff is super helpful. If there are any issues they fix it right away. Place was noisy on weekends to due events. If you are there on the weekend, do not stay on the 3rd floor as you will hear the music. I barely heard the noise on the 6th floor. Very good breakfast buffet. Wonderful surroundings and comfortable stay. Good value for money.

We loved everything about the stay except for the noise on weekends due to events with excessively loud music that continued until at least 2 am. The base and drums rattled our room on the floor above the event venue, and even using earphones with noise cancellation could not help block that out. During the week we enjoyed the resort very much. We did have a few issues with our room upon arrival (no fridge, leaking shower head, shower temperature too cool), but all those issues were corrected immediately and happily by the friendly staff. It is a shame that soundproofing can’t be added, or that the musicians or DJs at the parties being held can’t reduce the volume of the drum and base.

Bird feeders not used or known about, low knowledge on animals/trails in area. Website advertises 3 walks however staff knew nothing of them and said can only do one with a guide when going to sloth center (included for free but not promoted or told how to do it upon check in). Unsure why you are not allowed to walk around without a guide?? Al a carter food service slow, only when one main arrived did we get told there was no other main as none of that dish. Dinner buffet a little limited. Breakfast buffet good. Very disappointed with use of 1 almost A3 paper sheet underneath every person who eats, staff should wipe tables more instead. Also saw no recycling facilities at hotel so doubt all this paper gets recycled. Tried to say no when i sat at a clear table to waitress putting paper down at my place, but they insisted. Removed paper immediately and put to other side of table so they could reuse it and it would stay clean, when i left my table at some point during meal they had put it back under my plate. Ridiculous. Dirty carpets throughout hotel saw staff trying to sweep them. 1 hour wait for staff to swap complimentary wine from red to white. Disappointed with stay. Very loud music one night with wedding in lobby despite being 4th floor room. Room not in best state, cracked picture, some of ceiling falling off. Holes in lamp shade. Another wouldnt stay stable. These details add up.

The cleanliness of every place we went in this resort and attention at the restaurant and front desk. Nice surroundings and exceptional service by the personnel. They really did their best to accommodate the guests which I can not say about the owners of the resort. Absolutely no maintenance. The rooms and furniture are in a very bad shape. the balcony railing had peeling off rust and the patio door was rolling with great resistance. My wife couldn't open it from outside. Mo hooks for shower towel. Very bad illumination of the room and bathroom.

Omar and Ricardo made a wonderful team to help us find all of the venues we wanted to visit. It's Lenny was a exceptionally good receptionist and the three of them made a great team to make our stay very comfortable and exciting. Sergio was very knowledgeable and passionate about the environment and all the little critters running around here and we thoroughly enjoyed his tour.

They're somehow bad at providing rooms
They're bad at the one function I expected of them: being a hotel. They didn't provide me access to my room. I was without a room, or any of my belongings for a full night at full fault of the hotel due a known issue on their end with the room door, and was not apologized to and still expected to pay full price. It ruined my trip. The next night they broke into my room so I could get my stuff, but this still wasted hours of my time as I waited on them, and my next room didn't have hot water and was absolutely freezing to a faulty air conditioner. Don't stay here. The "ecotours" are just walks around the golf course. Awful.

Not a peacefull place to stay!
We are group of friends booked 3 rooms and checked in. I got my room not cleaned at all like just someone left it. Went down to receptionist and she changed to another one. Suddenly in the middle of the night someone enters my room and says sorry when they see that I am in the bed. They wake me up! In the morning 4 am trash truck comes below my window and make a huge noise around 15min after which I can not sleep anymore. I ask my friends what is their experience. They told the same. Someone enters their room at night also! This hotel really has management problem. Not a peacefull place to stay!

Loved the room with the balcony view of the rainforest. Beautiful resort, good food, accomodating staff. Not too far from Old City, to enjoy the natural sounds and feels of Panama. Breakfast was great, with so many selections. Availability of other meals, activities on site is a plus

Old and moldy. Untrained staff and bad communication of golfing services. All golfing activities are closed by the resort on Mondays and they never disclaimed the information on their website nor on Expedia. Even after we specifically asked about this during check-ins they never disclosed the information. Room service is never delivered in a cart or plates but as take outs. Menus for room service are not available unless delivered by a staff, whixh takes 20 minutes. Why dont they have the menus in the rooms already or as a QR CODE. The gym is a hazard as it smells of mold and old rags. No ventilation system and no updated or enough equipment. Bed sheets, pillow covers, and towels were all dirty with make up and marks from past visitors. Telephone in the hotel rooms smelled like mold too. Would never come back to stay st the hotel. Please dont be fooled by the price. Still not worth the price.

Pretty decent resort for a family stay. Place was comfortable, although could use a few updates and/or a refresh. The pool was great for little kids and the organized tours were lots of fun. Tour guides were great!! Staff were mostly friendly.
