Papagayo Golden Palms Beachfront Hotel

We were tired of the rain and decided to go back to the beach for one last look at the sun before heading back to the frozen North and not seeing the sun again for months. We landed on this, as it was relatively inexpensive, on a beach and had a pool, restaurant and bar. In short, it was a good stay. We got a last bit of sunshine, which was a main goal. The restaurant had good dinner and great breakfast. Dinner server was very pleasant, but we had a tough time with the language barrier. Breakfast and pool server had great English so that was a bit easier. The grounds were gorgeous, the rooms were pretty well equipped and comfortable. There was always someone around working on the grounds, the pool or the rooms. The only thing we didn't see were any other guests! I'm not sure why...it's a nice place. Nothing elaborate and not much going on (no music by the pool, no fun activities or outdoor games to play), but it was good! We would have been bored if we'd stayed more than a couple days, but it was great for what we needed!

This hotel was just what we needed - close to the airport, and service was nice. It's a little dated, but pleasant. Staff was great, but there was only 4 other guests I saw the whole time I was there. The morning we left, I got stung by a sting ray, the woman at the desk was great and called the doctor with another employee for me, got me hot water and helped out huge. I was in blinding pain, so I didn't even say thank you.
