Suspect food is better when in high season

Booked a last minute deal and pleased with the price. Massive hotel and very quiet in February, so we rattled around a bit, however, the indoor pool (nice and big) therefore very quiet too, so kids had a great time.
Staff are lovely, but we were disappointed with the quality of the food, especially at dinner. We only had one meal in the evening as it was a set menu so not suitable for the kids. Also, the food was disappointing in quality. The breakfast buffet was much better as a full selection on offer. I suspect that when the hotel is very busy in high season, there is probably a buffet available in the evening too, which would be much better.
Rooms nice, only gripe was awful pillows and the fact that towels not changed often enough.
However, for the price it was a good value break and the great indoor pool (outdoor too cold this time of year) meant our teens very happy and kept busy.
