The Reef

Posted Oct 20, 2017
The Reef resort was very beautiful. I loved being beachfront. The beach was beautiful with the finest sand. Great pool but it closed early. Our room was very clean and nice. I booked a king ocean view studio and was very pleased with the size. The view was nice but it seemed that if you stayed at the Cove you might have better views of the ocean. I liked having then kitchenette although we didn’t use it much except the fridge. The staff is very friendly. The shuttle system is nice to have to get around. Everythingbin The resort is very expensive but if you go to a grocery store and buy groceries or eat where the locals eat prices are much better. We enjoyed our vacation.

Rooms look nice but ours needed repair...lots.

Posted Oct 19, 2017
Pros: Not a lot to tell you the truth. Not a lot to do and very expensive.
Cons: Fix the problems in the rooms, at least I'd be comfy at night!
Location: Not much to do, we hired a cab to give us a tour and just saw an old fort, downtown, and that was pretty much all of Bahamas. Bermuda is much better.
Hotel is nice but not really for kids - the Royal would be better if you have kids. The room looks nice but needs a bit of repair, for example there were absolutely NO hooks in the bathroom to hang anything, one of the 2 sinks was clogged, one of the lights above the sink was out, the fridge was really warm and never kept anything we put in cold, we found at least 2 outlets that were loose so when we plugged in our phone adapters you can hear the arcing of the electricity when you jiggle the plug...I could go on about the problems. Oh, and the resort is ridiculously expensive. A can of soda was like $4, the cheapest buffet at the Royal was something like $75 with kids like $45. We ended up taking their meal plan where the kids ate free with an adult, otherwise we'd leave with no money left.

Terrible Service & Food, Beautiful Beach & Grounds

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Pros: The beach and grounds were beautiful. The water park was extremely fun and luckily the lines for the water slides were short.
Cons: The service was either non existent or poor. The staff was rude and it felt like we were bothering them every time we needed to interact with them.
We had high expectations for this highly rated hotel. Sadly, our experience was far below expectations. We chose the Reef based on the positive reviews online. It was difficult to find service and when we did, the staff for the most part was dismimssive and rude. It took 5 requests, one per day, to the front desk to address issues with the room which may have been addressed but then never corrected. Many restaurants were closed and the ones that were open had mediocre food. The best quality food was room service. The beach and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The water park had little to no lines which was a huge plus.

Nice hotel with a beautiful private beach

Posted Sep 29, 2017
Wow, I don't know where to begin. From the moment I arrived At the airport until my departure, I was greeted with friendly smiles and pleasant interactions. The front desk staff was very polite and helpful during my stay. They even upgraded me when I checked in to a suite with a wrap around balcony just because! The hotel itself is very nice and surprisingly quiet (which is a good thing). The private beach is just a few steps away and it's beautiful. The Cove at Atlantis is also just a few steps away and it's full of things to do and see; the ambiance is beautiful at night. I ate breakfast two days in a row at the Mosaic over at the Cove. It's a Buffett with great tasting food and an awesome staff. The free shuttles that take you to the different properties on Paradise Island was also a big plus. Outside of the shuttles, there are plenty of taxi's waiting in front of the hotel to take you to your destination(s) outside of paradise island. All in all, I would say this is a great place to stay if you want a quiet but fun time. Don't forget to do the Dolphin encounter in Dolphin Cay, it's an experience I'll never forget!

We stayed at the Reef and it was great for adults

Posted Sep 14, 2017
Pros: The hotel really highlighted the culture and beauty of the Bahamian culture and had the most beautiful aquarium we had ever seen.
Cons: The Carpets in the rooms needed some attention. They need a refresh.
Location: All the local attractions and aquatic adventures were first rate. Golf was excellent along wit Snorkel adventures.
We ventured to the Atlantis resort for our first time right at the onset of Huricane Irma. The hotel staff was very prepared and very well trained in the event of a Hurricane situation and kept everyone safe. The resort was the safest place on the Island and we were very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and all the special things they did to take care of their guests in a difficult situation. We never felt safer. We are going back for sure.

Hi Mike, Thanks for choosing The Reef! We are delighted that you had a five-star visit to paradise and Atlantis is turning its own marketing into a storytelling opportunity to celebrate Bahamian artists and groups – from photographers to musicians and artists – who represent the talented community of their native land. The movement focuses on co-creation with these artisans, in order to provide them with a platform for global recognition and success. See you back in paradise.

Beauty of the Bahamas

Posted Aug 24, 2017
Pros: Everything was great and nothing was too much bother. Facilities were suitable for all ages.
Location: A regular shuttle bus service that was free took you all around the Atlantis resort. Facilities were free everywhere.
Hotel was amazing! Staff were courteous, helpful and extremely friendly. 5 star comfort and 5 star quality. The beach was amazing: clear water and white sand.

So much to do and see a week is hardly enough. It may be pricey but you are paying for the experience and entertainment that is incl. A must see!

The Reef at the Atlantis

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: The privacy was nice. The room size was comfortable.
Cons: The decor could be improved. Definitely need more people to check you in. Rooms should be ready as specified. No late departure fee.
Location: You are a way from the crowds which is nice. The beach and pool are very close by. We took a fish charter and loved it. We also enjoyed the dolphins.
I liked the Reef, but it needs some updating. The view was ocean but I expected a little bit more view. I love the pools and the privacy of the beach. The people were very nice, but at times you would get a different answer for the same question. The shuttles were helpful as the walk can be long from The Reef to the Towers.

Pros: location, suite was perfect for our family
Cons: check - in was horrible
This hotel is onthe quiet side of the resort, great calm waters for snorkeling or small children, excellent views, no bar or restaurant actually in this hotel, but 77 degress and sea glass lounge < 5 minute walk away beteween the Reef and the Cove
