Excellent Location

Posted Jul 7, 2016
Pros: Location.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Aligre market. Bastille short walk away.
We stayed in hotel Colour Design mostly because of its proximity to the Gare de Lyon. However, the area is a delightful part of old Paris with the Aligre market on your doorstep and an amazing selection of places to eat. The hotel has a modern feel and the rooms are comfortable.

Fresh Breakfast and delightful Decor

Posted Apr 11, 2016 on Ebookers
The Color Design Hotel is very close to Faidherbe Chaligny Metro on line 8 with excellent connections to Nation for Line 6, and Bastille for lines 4 &1. The Breakfast room displays light natural stonework, white tables, and multi coloured glasses and clear Perspex chairs. Eggs can be boiled fresh to ones own liking in an individual egg basket in a container of simmering water. The Orange juice is automatically freshly squeezed into each glass, and sachets of varying strengths are inserted into the fresh coffee machine, there is of course the usual selection of ham and cheese and cereals and croissant etc. The thick duvet covered in white was very comfortable and warm, and there was a heated chrome towel rail in the en-suite shower room. A large screen TV and a chrome and glass table completed the furnishings, and although it was visually excellent in keeping with the modern design theme, I would have preferred a chair to the cylindrical grey plastic stool, as I am rather heavy. As an Author and Artist, my main reason for the visit was to refresh my knowledge of The Louvre, and the magnificent Architecture of Notre Dame, as well to enjoy the ambience of the City. I did take an excellent River cruise and I was impressed by the views of Paris from the 56th floor Observatory of the Montparnasse Tower.( the French Impressionists would have loved it) Also I can highly recommend The Alsace Restaurant in the Champs Elyseese Near the Arch de Triomphe (Fruits de la Mere). Sadly the Eiffel Tower was closed and patrolled by armed Guards, this may have been due also to the inclement weather, but the rain and wind does not detract from the appeal of Paris.

A good "crash pad" for a one night stay. Nice, firm bed.
