Nice hotel close to attractions/transportation

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Better beds. More selection for breakfast. Only juice, coffee and croissant availabe for $9.
Location: Everything is nearby including fabulous restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions.
Hotel is a good one for the price. It is close to an amazing department store and all the important attractions such as the Louvre, Pompidou, Musee D'Orsay, Notre Dame and right next to the metro. There is a wonderful open air market across the street on W and Sat where you can get crepes made-to-order. Stabucks is down the street if you want American style coffee sometimes.

Quirky Little Hitel on the edge of the Marais.

Posted Jun 10, 2016
Hotel de Nice is a sweet and quirky little hotel conveniently located on the edge of the Marais. It is situated by theHotel de Ville Metro stop, easy walking distance to Notre Dame, surrounded by lovely busy restaurants and close to the fantastic BHV Department Store. It is on a main road, so it can be loud if facing the Rue de Rivoli. They have recently added A/C and double glazed windows so this helps quite a bit. The rooms are small and well appointed with cool wallpaper and Indian print coverlets. I've stayed her over 5 times and continue to love it.

Great hotel with great location

Posted Jan 20, 2016
Comfortable beds with reasonably quiet (typically small) rooms. The best parts of this hotel are the location and the staff. We could walk to the Bastille, Notre Dame, Saint Gervais, Picasso, Place des Vosges, Louvre, D'Orsay, Les Halles, etc. We hardly used the Metro. Tons of amazing restaurants and shops nearby in the most fun neighborhood of Paris. I will return.

French Romantic Colorful Boudoir Artful Style

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Lovely hotel with beautiful decoration, posters, paintings, turn of the century newspapers, magazines framed and organized on elegant blue fabric wallpapers complemented by detailed decoration, colors, patterns. Really well done. Could be a grand maison if it wasn't an affordable hotel. Clean, rooms large enough and comfortable, well maintained.. Bathrooms small but this is Paris. Quiet although on Rue de Rivoli and a tree covered square with cafe's next door. In the Marais, can walk to trendy boutiques restaurants, or trains and buses to everywhere you want to go. Staff helpful, efficient, organized. Breakfast served in turn of the century decorated red brocade room with paintings, arm chairs, overlooking square. Reasonable price 8E for croissants, coffee, bread and OJ. Coffee was not hot. Lots of Europeans visiting. Would recommend for its ambience and price.

Quirky, but in a great location

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Location: Great for walking around the Ile St. Louis, Ile de le Cite and banks of the Seine.
I stayed in the Hotel de Nic for 2 nights with friends and family. The accommodation is adequate but the elaborate decor and great location give it the advantage.

Perfect location for exploring Paris.

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: The decoration.
Cons: Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Better breakfast eg yogurt, fruit and decaffeinated options.
Location: rue de Rivoli is a shoppers paradise with high street chains and bespoke French labels. 15 minute walk away from Notre Dame, the Louvre and the Marais
The hotel is utterly charming and true to the pictures. It is a little tired, but like a glamorous Aunty! Forget the mod cons that would come with chain hotels (kettles, lots of bathroom products). This is a comfy bed in a superbly over the top decorated room with wardrobes that your Grandad might have built! Don't bother with breakfast. You'll get a better coffee and croissant outside and the pots of jam were just like coloured sugar. It's not the cheapest hotel for what you get - but it is a unique experience that you wouldn't find anywhere else.

Great location in Marais quarter

Posted Nov 4, 2013
A wonderfully central hotel that is cosy and kooky without being pretentious. We loved the Marais quarter for strolling amongst beautiful buildings, enjoying restaurants and cafes, and for its proximity to Notre Dame, the Pompidou Centre, the Latin Quarter and many metro stations. A short walk to the Seine too for a wander along to the Louvre, either right down by the river or up by the road. Hotel staff were unobtrusive and discreet. We didn't have breakfast there as wanted to get out into Paris. Our room had a Great Parisian view and we could hear church bells. We stayed 2 nights for a treat 'babymoon' (lift to the 5th floor appreciated!) and would definitely recommend the de Nice hotel to a couple, though aware this is not a very cheap option and some people might expect more for the price other than fab location and a cosily decorated, intimate hotel.
