Not 24h check-in
Hotel itself was OK. Good location and pretty good for the price. However I booked this stay because of the 24h check-in. When I arrived I was told that check-in was not until 1 PM. When I came back at 1.45 PM, my room still wasn't ready. So that was VERY disappointing.

Extreme noisyness and lack of customer service
Room acceptable, but small to the point that the shower (and elevator) induce feelings of claustrophobia. Some furniture looked like recently replaced, but for example the carpet was worn down. Decently cleaned. Free wifi available after requested, but network not very stable. Neighborhood is very nice with lots of cafes and restaurants. Hotel requires handing in keycard when leaving premises. There was a new doorman every night and they handed the keys to anyone that asked, which was a bit worrying. (I accidentally asked for the wrong room number once.) Hotel was extremely noisy. Even conversation in other rooms could clearly be heard. We didn't sleep through a single night. One night the police had to enter the hotel at 5 am to silence drunk guests that were fighting, shouting and crying in the hallway and hotel staff didn't do anything to stop this. Worst part is that our complaints about this incident were not taken seriously and laughed away by the hotel manager. Summary: This hotel was one of the cheaper options available close to the city center, and you certainly don't get any more than what you pay for. While the room itself is acceptable (though not more than that), the extreme noisiness and lack of customer service made our stay a bad experience.

Traditional Paris hotel - nice example
If you like the traditional Paris hotel priced accordingly then one is a fine example in a convenient location very close to Place Clichy metro station on Metro Line 13. Convenient for Central Paris, or in my case, getting out to the office industrial area around St Ouen for meetings. Rooms very clean and staff very friendly. A family business and they know the value of bein pleasant to customers. Traditional Paris breakfast of croissant and coffee. I feel very comfortable with this hotel and I don't feel ripped off as I do with many branded chain hotels.

Very Hard Beds in a very noisy street. Internal noises to disturb sleep too. Breakfast offered included in the price but when the milk run out of the coffee machine it wasn't refilled.

Guest beware!
The best part of this hotel is the neighborhood, which is a great section of Montmartre. Otherwise, we would not stay here again. We found the sheets to be dirty when we arrived, and asked the hotel housekeeper to change out everything the second day. When we came back that evening, the housekeeper did change all of the sheets, which was great. However, the room had a very strong smell of bug spray. We were very curious as to why it did, since there was no smell on the first day. We found out why on the third night when we found bugs in the bed. We complained to the manager, who told us that he can't help what other travelers bring into the rooms and that it wasn't the hotel's fault. After more complaining, he did agree to wash all of our clothing for us, which at least made us feel a tad better since we had just started our vacation and didn't want to be lugging bugs with us throughout Europe. However, after we completely dissected the bed and looked at the mattress and box spring, it was very clear that there was past evidence of bugs - we should have looked when we checked in. In addition, the walls are extremely thin. We were kept up our second night because the couple in the adjacent room were "enjoying" themselves, and it took them 1.5 hours to finish - we were then finally able to get to sleep. The bathtub is extremely slippery when taking a shower - I almost fell a couple times. There is nothing positive otherwise to report about the hotel, it is quite bare bones.

Good basic hotel in Real Neighborhood
I love this hotel because of the location, but it is basic. It has a bed, a desk, a bathroom with shower, WIFI and that is it! Absolutely basic, but that is all that you need. There is a little place nearly right across the street that is open late and sells quiche and pizza, etc., so you can wander home late and still eat, and there are good Japanese restaurants right next door. With a laundromat around the corner and the metro steps away, this is the "real" Paris and not the superficial tourist Paris.

Not recommended for family vacation
I stayed in this hotel with my less-than-1-year-old boy. There was no refrigerator in the room to keep baby food and no water boiler to make hot water for milk. The room was a bit humid and small. However, to be fair, the location was quite good and close to the railway station.

Cheap and cheerful
A fair representation of it's 2 star rating. Good location along a nice street lined with cafes and bars, next to Duroc station. We enjoyed our stay although the rooms look tired and bedding didn't fill us with hygienic confidence. Overall, friendly staff and satisfactory hotel for a short stay.

This hotel is exactly as described. The rooms are small and the building is a bit old, but the staff is very helpful, the internet worked fine the entire time, and it is in a good location, with a good price (comparatively).

Worst hotel EVER!!!
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!! The wall paper was peeling in the room and the shower did not work in the morning. When we complained about latter problem to the hotel manager, he was very unsympathetic and did not make any arrangements for us to shower somewhere else. Take my advice and do not stay at this hotel - it is awful and the staff are rude.

Cute neighborhood, but you get what you pay for!
The hotel is small and sleepable, but you get what you pay for! The room was larger than expected. The bed was not the most comfortable but clean! The guy at the reception was really nice and helpful when asking about restaurants, cafes, etc! It was the lowest quality hotel on our trip but that's Paris! The neighborhood atmosphere makes up for anything the hotel lacked!!

Dissapointing
The hotel room was dated itself but okay comfort wise. As there was no airconditioning, we had to leave the window open to try and keep cool or even just comfortable but it was incredibly noisy. Till about 3-4am every morning the side street was still incredibly noisy. They dont provide fans either so dont bother asking! When we checked in the man behind the desk stated that breakfast was included. We only went once but on our departure, the manager who was behind the desk charged us for it. 6 Euro each for 1 croissant and a small bottled orange juice. I tried to explain to him that we were told it was included but he was adament we were lying. This really put a sour end to my time in Paris. I would also question the fact that you have to leave your room key behind whenever you leave. Sometimes when we would leave there was a pile on top of the desk. We locked everything up in our cases every day. I wouldnt recommend this hotel. Yes it is cheap by paris standards but ive stayed in a hostel with nicer staff who explain themselves properly.

An excellent location close to the Metro and the sites of Monmatre. However on Friday and Saturday nights be prepared for those out celebrating to make plenty of noise. It is OK if you do not wish to sleep until after 1am.

Good price considering the location
This hotel is bare bones basic lodging smack in the middle of Paris, just a stone throw from the Sacreceour and Moulin Rouge. Considering the location, it's probably good value for money. Room small but doesn't feel very cramped anyway. Comfortable beds. Clean rooms, but some minus points go out because of the cleaning substance used by housekeeping; a pungent unpleasant smell of artificial citrus - requiring airing out the room, we were not the only guests reacting. Also, in our case the visa card machine didn't work, forcing an emergency visit to a nearby ATM, this made checkout stressful. Probably just bad luck...

Staff was very friendly and helpful,Hotel is located in a convinience location a few step of place de clichy. Room was clean and confortable.the area was safe I was alone and I had no problems, a few steps from the hotel there are restaurants, internet rooms, laundry to wash your clothes, a convinience store .I pretty much walked around Paris and took the bus to comeback or taxi. The hop on /off bus was also a few blocks down. The hotel has 24 hours staff attending in the front desk and they were very helpful.

No visit in rooms/Staff argues with guests ...
I have never seen a hotel before where visits are not allowed in the rooms. The staff argued with me all the time. I used the restroom on the entrance floor a couple of times in rush to pie and the guy at the entrance to start questioning about whether I don't have a toilet in my room. On another occasion, as I was waiting in the seats at the entrance, he would tell me that I can't stay there for a long time. They don't allow visits in the room and they even want to tell you how long you can stay on the entrance floor. What the hell? I have never seen a hotel staff treat a guest that way.

The hotel is basic. A place to rest your head that is clean with friendly staff. It is handy for the metro lines and there are plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. The sound proofing leaves a little to be desired if you are a light sleeper but the shower was good.I would ( as a single traveller ) use this hotel again.

10 euros for yoghurt!
The hotel room doesn't have a fridge - I bought yoghurt before I checked in expecting a fridge. I asked to use their fridge - he said no and said leave it outside on the window sill and it will be fine (it was winter). I did that. The next day was sunny and I thought it wouldn't be a good idea to leave it outside, I asked again to use the fridge (another staff member) who let me. The next day, the manager said that his decision was final and that he was going to charge me 10 euros to use the fridge!! And that I was a bad person. I argued with him and said I want my yoghurt back and he said no. The stay after that was not pleasant coming in and out of the hotel as the manager was there most days. Also the wifi doesn't work in the room so I had to go downstairs to the lobby everytime to use it. All in all, I do not not recommend this hotel.

Glad it was no more than for two nights!
The staff at the Hotel De Paris Montmartre where friendly and the overall appearance of the hotel was fine, the disappointment comes when you enter your room to find a tired, small and badly furnished little box with not even the most basic of things, a bin for example! The hygiene of the room was the most unsettling as there were hairs in my sheets and stains on the towels and the basic furniture looked as if it was salvaged from a skip. The noise coming from the courtyard extraction pipe that was right outside my room made the experience even more unpleasant. You do get a small LCD TV placed so high up the wall that it's impossible to watch for more than ten minutes at a time. I know this hotel seems to offer good value for money considering it's location in the heart of Montmartre but the discomfort and uncleanliness make it one to avoid.

The bare minimum at a good price and place
This hotel is good enough for a single person on a short stay, where you just need somewhere to leave your bag and sleep, but don't expect more than the bare minimum. The room was small, noisy (you could hear what was going on in neighboring rooms and the ventilation fan did an annoying noise) and the shower had to be held by hand to use it (there was nowhere to attach it). It is, however, very cheap for Paris and very conveniently located (right next to Place de Clichy, with a metro station).

Hotel de Paris Monmartre
Overall, the hotel is satisfactory for the price paid. The location is quite convenient as there is a metro station just close by, However, to get to major attractions, you would most probably need to change lines. The rooms where cleaned everyday and generally are clean enough. Although it says that the room includes wifi, we had to godown to the lobby to "catch" the network first, as the signal is really low on the 3rd floor. One big disadvantage is the absense of a locker room: if you want to leave your bags somewhere after you checkout they\d be just in the lobby. They say it is safe, but we saw them leaving the place unattended several times, so we had to take our bags to lockers at a train station.

Another Satisfied Customer
Being the first time I've stayed in a hotel in Paris, I didn't know what to expect, especially for the rate. The room and bathroom was clean. The bed was comfortable. I read some other comments about the street noise, and though we did hear a couple of loud groups go by, by and large it is on a sidestreet, not the main boulevard. We were on the third floor. The elevator was small but worked well. You didn't want to walk up the spiral staircase too many times. There were lots of hangers for jackets and clothes. The bathroom did have a small waterstain in the ceiling, but it was decent. The bath is small and the shower hose barely allows a normal size person to reach over one's head, but it had good water pressure and hot water. Breakfast consists of orange juice, bagget, creosant, and biscotti with jelly and butter. No sugar substitute, but I usually bring my own anyways. Coffee or tea is also provided. A assortment of fruit is also available for the taking. TV has only french channels. I understand why the have you leave the key, the one I got was fairly worn. In addition to the outside noise there was some noises that sounded like water pipes or maybe the elevator machinery. Not loud but enough to wake you up the first night. Still for the location and accommodations, I would stay there again.

Great base to explore from
Let's start with the positive... The multilingual staff are professional, polite, extremely helpful and generally faultless. The reception is manned 24 hours per day, so you can take your time exploring Paris and not have to rush to get back. Breakfast is an optional extra which I which was limited but still very nice. It is situated in a great area just of Place de Clichy, which has everything you need around it such as a Metro station, cafés, restaurants, cinema, nightclubs, KFC, McDonalds (if you're in a hurry), chemists, Moulin Rouge, the café from the film Amelie, florists (should you be meeting your date in Paris) and even a video store, to name just a few. My room had a TV, plenty of power points and a reasonable bathroom. So what's the catch? My room was very small, comfortable but small. The storage drawers had blankets in them, so only a coat rail for hanging clothes and a bench to put your suitcase/bag on. There was also a desk and chair. The room is so cramped that you couldn't even open the bathroom door fully, and I'm not joking. For me this was not a problem. I only needed a place to sleep of a night, and I was staying for three nights, so not the end of the world. It also mentions WiFi, but sadly it did not seem to connect to anything, so technically yes it does have WiFi but you will need to visit one of the nearby restaurants if you want internet access. In short, it's a great place to sleep, at a reasonable rate, in a great location with welcoming staff.

Great neighborhood, helpful staff, & basic rooms
We absolutely loved the neighborhood the hotel was in. It was our favorite in Paris. It felt very quaint and had a lot of great cafes and was only a couple minute walk from the metro. It really was very convenient. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The room itself was very clean and basic. It was a no frills kind of room, but it had everything we needed and was absolutely worth the price we paid. We would definitely go back.
