Nice Hotel, Great Staff

Posted Sep 19, 2016
Pros: Friendliness of staff, size of room.
Location: Close to metro stops. Several cafes and bars close by. Not the very best area of Paris, but convenient.
We stayed at Hotel Joyce for 6 nights while in Paris. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are rather sizeable by European standards. The bed was very comfortable, a plus after a long day of walking and seeing the sights. Bathroom was nice with a nice shower. Several metro stops are within walking distance, with the St. George's metro stop a short walk away. There were several cafes and bars in the area, which were very lively during the week (but oddly quiet on the weekend evenings). Breakfast was included in our package, and was very nice. Best of all was the staff. They were very helpful when we needed directions or to get a taxi for the ride to the airport. I would definitely recommend.

Pretty Poor

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Pros: The free snacks and drinks are a nice touch.
Cons: Pretty basic stuff like making sure that what you offer is actually deliverable. Not walking in on sleeping guests.
Location: The location is good (but not in anyway unique or special as far as Paris hotels is concerned). There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby.
I planned a surprise weekend trip for my partner and I to Paris, and this hotel was to be our base. We live in different countries, so don't get to see one another that often. While we enjoyed wandering around Paris, this hotel didn't help in pretty basic ways. Firstly, we weren't given a "do not disturb" sign, and even though we both shouted when the door was knocked, first one and then another person randomly wandered into our room while we were both sleeping on the Saturday morning. We were sleeping naked and on top of the covers because the air conditioning wasn't working so plenty of embarrassment was had by all. We thought they might have realised it wasn't working by that night and done something about it since the room was like an oven, but unfortunately not. So at 3AM on Sunday morning, we finally got tired of the sauna of our room, and were moved together to a single room at the other end of the hotel. There, we kept jumping out of bed every time we heard the staff talking (loudly) in the corridor from fear that they would wander in on us again. But since we could hear every word of their conversation, the rooms are obviously not soundproofed as advertised. To top off our stay, I put on some of the bath creme that the hotel had supplied after my shower on Sunday morning, and developed a bright red rash wherever I had put the creme. My partner and I were happy to see one another, but I was quite angry that this hotel could have spoilt my special trip in so many ways.

Exceeded expectations!

Posted Jul 29, 2016
This was my first visit to Paris and I was a little nervous about where to stay. I'm a firm believer in a hotel can make or break your vacation experience. We arrived prior to check-in, but was given a room within a 20 minute wait. That was fantastic! They hotel offers a regular French type breakfast each morning and snacks throughout the day. Our room room was clean and the air conditioner worked very well. There were a couple of hot days in Paris in July, so it was nice to return to a nice clean cold room. There's a mini bar in the room with drinks that's included in the price. I highly recommend Joyce hotel. There are two metro stations just a block away. And, plenty of eateries and shopping nearby. We stayed here an entire week and it was worth the money.

Quiet Hotel in easy walking distance of the Metro

Posted Jun 23, 2016
Pros: Liked everything about this hotel especially the quirky designs.
Cons: Would like to have seen more choice on the breakfast, at 16 euros each I expected a bit more.
Location: Quiet location and Moulin Rouge was easy to walk to.
Nice and peaceful, great to escape the hustle and bustle of Paris city centre. Easy walk to Moulin Rouge and Metro. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Complimentary soft drinks in the fridge of each room and a buffet in the dining room is open all day and evening for light snacks, all free!
