Excellent staff made our stay wonderful.

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Pros: Staff.
Cons: Towels.
Location: Location was great. Paul's just down the street is a great place to pick up a picnic lunch for your day trip. There is a sidewalk cafe next door.
The Madeleine is located across the street from historic St. Mary Madeleine. The Metro is just steps away. The place (plaza or square) and surrounding streets are full of interesting shops and dining. The restaurant next door is a great place to have coffee or a cocktail and just sit and watch. The price of our stay was reasonable especially in light of the charming accommodations and especially the level of service. Breakfast was included in our stay. It was a wonderful start to each day: wonderful coffee and pastries and a small buffet of eggs, meats and cheese. Our third floor room overlooked the Place. There was some traffic noise during part of the day but it was not intrusive and was a small trade off for the feeling of being in a bustling Paris neighborhood. The room was charming. The bathroom was what you'd expect from a well done retrofit of an older building. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough. The bed was firm which is not my preference but we were always comfortable. The Staff of the Madeleine sets the Hotel apart and takes it to the highest level. Friendly, helpful and accommodating. Excellent is not an over exaggeration.

In the middle of everywhere you want to be!

Posted Oct 29, 2016
Pros: Perfect placement. We didn't need a car, did the hop on hop off buses. Loved the walks and nightlife. Got a room not directly on plaza by flower side of Campo d' Fiori. (bring earplugs) Staff very helpful. Room design was interesting. Dawn they set up the outdoor market and take it away every evening. Fresh fruit and vegggies. Music in the evening. Great restaurants. In room safe so I didn't have to travel with cards or too much cash.
Cons: Newly remodeled. The hotel will have future problems with leaks around shower pan, small amount of mold present that they need to keep on top of, some cracks in polished concrete floors. Reception desk has limited hours of service.
Location: Rome museum next door, great exibit of Da Vinci and all of his beautiful, creative mind. Piazza Navona, Trivi fountain a walk away. Google a map!

Nice little 3-4 star hotel in a good location within walking distance to Arc de Triomphe and Louvre The room was small but clean The reception staff were friendly and helpful The in house breakfast was good value The Super Shuttle from CDG took us to the front door and on departure an Uber to Gare de Lyon was a breeze All in all a great introduction to Paris

Great location, very nice hotel

All was great at the hotel, except for 2 things: breakfast should be included in the room rate, and very thin walls (we had really noisy neibors!)

Convenient location, in the heart of Paris

Posted Sep 13, 2016
Cons: The bathroom is in need of some towel hooks; the shower stall needs a shelf or anything but the floor to place on soap, shampoo, shower gel etc
Location: Located close to Paris main attractions
Location was just perfect and the room was very comfy. The bathroom comfort could be improved by simply adding a shelf and some towel hooks.

Staff great, room very disappointing

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Booked "premium triple room" for 25th anniversary. Staff was great, but room was not good as it was split level with very small rickety rail staircase leading to second-level small sleeping area. Area was like a small loft. Moving even normal size suitcase up the stairs was very difficult. Room did have a balcony - which was good. Person who slept on right side of the bed had to duck down to get to their side of the bed and staircase was virtually adjacent to the bed. This was not "charming" as hotel staff member indicated, but very, very inconvenient and possibly dangerous. Location and staff, again, were very good. Room not as represented - very disappointing for price.
