Around the corner from the Moulin Rouge

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Location: Very close to Sacré-Cœur Basilica A particularly nice kebab house at the end of the street A nice half hour walk into central Paris
Stayed for 2 nights in late-September. Good location and very nice staff. Room was adequate - small but comfortable enough with a desk. However, the hotel is in desperate need of a refurb and a deep clean. The view out of my window was onto an outside interior area, which was strewn with rubbish - frankly, it looked as if it was being used as a dumping ground. Carpet in the room was old and stained. Although the shower worked fine, the tub was old and very grubby. There is also no air conditioning in the room. The WiFi was overcomplicated to connect to and quite temperamental. Finally, upon check-in, I was asked to write my full credit card number on the guest details form. While nothing untoward came of this, I cannot recall any hotel anywhere ever asking me to do this before and don't understand the need for doing this - particularly as payment is taken upon arrival. Maybe when the work they were doing internally at the time is complete, the place will be better.

Good location to the metro. But the hotel is old

Posted Jul 14, 2016
Pros: Location close to metro station. Lots of places to eat around the area.
Cons: Very old room. Soundproofing with noise from the street and the aisle.
Location: Excellent location very close to metro station. Lots of places to eat around the hotel area. Close to Moulin Rouge.
The hotel's location is very good with metro station within 3 minutes walk. The staff were friendly. But the hotel itself is quite old and needs lots of updates. Soundproofing is not that great either. Also I can still smell the odor of cigarette smoke in my non-smoking room, which seems to be coming from adjacent rooms. Basic breakfast which is normal. There are lots of places to eat around the hotel which is great.

More jaded than modern

Posted Jul 9, 2016
Pros: Free Wi-Fi. Pleasant staff
Cons: New furniture. Refurbishment.
Location: Near to metro. Local restaurants and bars.
I knew beforehand the hotel was not modern like it's name. So no surprise to find it jaded looking. The furniture was cheap, old and not quite working. The cupboard door banged into the TV. The room was too small. I had to climb over the bed to reach the other side. If you don't mind all that it comes when working free Wi-Fi, a simple breakfast and pleasant staff.

Modern - not!

Posted Apr 24, 2016
Pros: Well situated for Montmartre. Breakfast included. Pretty staircase. Cosy lift.
Cons: The only thing modern about this hotel is the name. Whole place needs modernising. Bathroom very tired-looking. Furniture had seen better days.
Location: Handy for Metro. Lively at night. Many bars, restaurants, sex shops close at hand.
Booked two rooms. Hadn't occured to the staff we might like two rooms close together. Or even on the same floor. Not overpriced, but asked to pay in full on arrival.

The accomodation very comfortable and you will feel really welcomed. Can recomend it to everybody. Very good for the price.

Walking distance from Big Bus Tours drop off

Posted Feb 20, 2016
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and adequately furnished. The hotel was a five minute walk from a central metro station and a 15 minute walk from one of the stops on the Big Bus Paris tour. It is an ideal.location for exploring central Paris. It is also very close to the Moulin Rouge.

Well located, cheap hotel

Posted Aug 31, 2015
A very well located hotel in a great area. Métro less than 2 minutes' walk so very easy to get around. Very small room with little amenities (no kettle, hangers, fridge, etc.) but was well kept and clean. The room had a few broken objects but for the price, it is acceptable.

Poor hotel, seedy area.

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Allocated double bed (when twin booked), poor dining/cleaning staff service, and immediate local area seedy; wider local area (Sacre Coeur) great, though!
