Came to stay for a night to celebrate a birthday in Paris. Location is great and the hotel provided a flower bouquet in the room as I indicated we were there on a birthday trip before arrival, which was much appreciated.
However, when we came back to the hotel on the day (admittedly late) the hotel seemed understaffed. On the question whether I could get a second pillow I was told the hotel was booked out and there were no more pillows. A lie, as it turned out the next day but my sleep was of course already ruined. When I called to have a second room key brought up to the room I received the reply: "do you really need it now"? I didn't get it until the next morning when I went down to reception and asked for it again. The next morning, I also had to find out there was no hair dryer in the room and had to call twice to receive one.
This is a boutique hotel. Our room was very small, there is no gym or pool. None of this would be too much of a problem but the one thing a boutique hotel should excel in in my view is how the staff look after their guests. In this regard, we were very disappointed.
