Great Location

Posted Apr 26, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Some of the furniture and fittings in the room were rather dowdy and could be lightened up to make the room seem less small and rather dark.
Location: Walking distance to a range of pleasant cafes and restaurants, the Champ de Mars and Eiffel Tower.
The Saphir Grenelle has an excellent location in central Paris close to the Champ de Mars and Eiffel Tower and with a metro station at the end of the street. There's a wide range of cafes and restaurants nearby. The room was small but this is typical for central Paris, clean and OK for the price. The breakfast room has only a few tables inside and not too much space outside which means that it could become cramped in peak season. There's not a great range of choice for breakfast but the croissants and yoghurts on offer are tasty and give a good start to the day. The breakfast staff are very pleasant, courteous and attentive. All in all the Saphir Grenelle is a good place to stay for central Paris.

I trusted 3 star rating by Expedia but I think this hotel does not deserve its star, it should be 2 stars..

Surprised to see some positive reviews

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: The cleaning service is fantastic, they do a very good job
Cons: This place needs everything to be changed and renovated
I'm very surprised to see some positive reviews as I found nothing positive about this place. The "hotel" (term used extremely loosely and quite figuratively) consisted of a number of very, very small rooms without air-conditioning, service or proper equipment. The WiFi didn't work at all, the room had a horrible smell, the shower just simply had no protection and would flood the place, they did not even bother putting up curtains in the washroom and shower and you are LEFT WITH giving the ENTIRE apartment buildings in front of you (including a PUBLIC STAIRWAY) a show... the shower/washroom is right in front of two apartment buildings and a stairway and they did not bother putting up a curtain or ANYTHING to protect your privacy. This place does not even pass as a "hotel" in the poorest country on earth...

A small hotel but very close to the Metro. Just a short walk to the Eiffle Tower. The room was small and basic but quite clean and comfortable.

Great hotel for everyone.

Pros: Location
Cons: nothing
Location: Two streets away from the Eiffel tower. Metro station 50 yards away. Lots of restaurants nearby. Good base to walk everywhere.
The receptionists all spoke English and were always helpful and polite. The hotel room is cleaned everyday. Location is superb. Two streets away from the Eiffel tower. Two metro stations very close by. We walked everywhere and didn't use the metro at all. Loads of restaurants and supermarkets around the hotel. Macdonalds opposite. Would stay here everytime i visit Paris.
