Wonderful old style hotel with up to date comforts

Pros: The Rue de la Paix and the Place Vendome is a marvellous part of Paris.
Cons: The elevator is a bit small, but adequate and efficient
Location: The famous Opera Garnier is close by, the Olympia music hall also. The famous Cafe de la Paix is also only minutes away, and all the luxury shopping
Loved The Westminster Hotel. The position is terrific right near L'Opera and Metro. Our room was lovely, very comfortable with walk-in shower. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was truly a great buffet, with everything one could wish for. I would recommend this hotel highly

Nice Hotel good position but rooms a bit tired.

Pros: Good breakfast friendly and helpful staff in a good location
Cons: Bedroom and bathroom as above
Location: Location very good
Generally very good but the bedroom was in need of re-furbishment. The bathroom showed signs of constant repair with tiles removed and replaced in a poor way etc, the sink was loose to the wall. The bedroom was in need of a re-paint. The rest of the hotel was very pleasant.

Conveniently located hotel

I was very disappointed this year staying at this Hotel. We had a superlative stay last year, staff were extremely friendly, helpful and the somellier in the bar was superb. Room was small but very comfortable, with a spectacular newly renovated bathroom. This year I did request we could be given a room with the new renovated bedroom & bathroom.. Unfortunately there was only one left, but with two twin beds pushed together so we opted for next alternative - a larger room with a 'King bed', overlooking Rue de la Paix on one side and the courtyard from the bathroom. The room was indeed very large, comfortable from that aspect, however regardless of 'King Bed' promise, we again had two beds pushed together. The mattresses were incredibly hard and uncomfortable (& I normally sleep with a hard mattress at home) I think the hotel's matresses must have been very old. The pillows were appalling, very small and with barely any filling so effectively your head was entirely flat. Even when we tried to put all 4 pillows on top of each other to test them, the result was the same, it wouldn't have made any difference asking for more. My husband had to put a chair cushion underneath his pillows to achieve any loft. We had a few drinks in the bar but the atmosphere wasn't nearly the same as last year. Perhaps the barstaff, not sure. The wine was excellent but it didn't make up for lack of atmosphere. Too bad, not sure we would stay there again. Caroline

Paris find

Hotel Westminster has great location, just a block or two north of Place Vendome. Spacious, well decorated ( in traditional Paris style) junior suite. Front desk most helpful and responsive. Very nice intimate bar and first rate in-house restaurant. The posted room rates are very reasonable ( for type of hotel and location) made even more desirable with savings from an expedia bundling with airfare. Certainly would return

Oasis of Calm

Pros: Good vibe, great location and friendly staff
Cons: Typically small, Paris elevator - but no big deal
Location: Grand magasins, opera, walking distance to the Louvre.
Took a very short trip to Paris with my husband and booked Hotel Westminster. Every part of our stay was lovely. The hotel itself is a traditional, grand Parisien, in a terrific location between the Opera House and Place Vendome. the check in staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a deluxe room (upgraded from our booking) which was just lovely with a modern, bright bathroom. The bar had a very English Club feel and was a perfect place to unwind after some exploring. Will definitely stay again.
