Hotel Ibis, Goselle - cheap, but there are drawbacks
Posted Dec 5, 2011
It's lower priced than many others, and fairly close to the Expo (10-15 minutes), but what you save on the hotel you may lose again in taxi fees. GPS units have a hard time finding this hotel, so make sure you have the correct address and phone number so your driver can call ahead to get directions. This hotel is far enough away that every taxi called to pick me up at the hotel was already at 10 pounds when it arrived. It was 30 pounds to the Expo (20 pounds going back to the hotel). There are no shops within walking distance, and only one restaurant (it's a nice restaurant) and a bar around the corner. The room was very small and musty, the mattress was thin and not very comfortable. I had to ask for towels. No coffee maker, no tissues, no iron--it was truly an economy room. The desk people were friendly and helpful, so no complaints there. They let me check into my room around 8:30 a.m., which may be why there were no towels.
