Hotel

Posted Sep 6, 2016
Pros: The staff made the stay enjoyable.... the room was clean and we were able to use the balcony to sit out in the morning and evening.
Cons: Nothing
Location: 1/2 block away from the Bon March'. Two blocks to the metro and easy walk to the Seine (20 Min) and the Tower (45 Min) lots of shops and restaurants
Start to finish a great experience. Front desk was very helpful, courteous and professional.... they were always willing to assist us and spoke excellent English.... we wrote down the names of the two individuals that we had a great deal of interaction with but those names were lost in our travels... my apology for this as both the Director and his associate need to be recognized. The Hotel is less than a block from the Bon Marche' shopping center..... walking distance to the metro... not in a tourist area but walking distance to the Seine and the Tower... lots of good restaurants and shops.

Great hotel next to Le Bon Marche

Posted Jun 6, 2016
The hotel is a great central place that is right next to Le Bon Marche--which is great for shoppers and foodies! I actually preferred the shopping at LBM as opposed to walking down Champs Élysées because it was raining for the majority of our stay in Paris. The hotel is a quick walk or short taxi ride to all major sites in Paris. The best part of the experience at Hotel Le Placide is the staff. They are warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly (and very handsome). They even took the time to help with an item we lost on the train, handling the phone calls to the station so we wouldn't have to deal with it while enjoying Paris. I appreciate the staff and really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is très magnifique!!!

Wonderful hotel with a wonderful staff

The location was great, the room was extremely spacious and nice. However, it was the wonderful staff at this hotel made a big difference. They were extremely thoughtful and really cared for our stay. We would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.

Very pleasant hotel in a great location

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: The Chef's willingness to cater for my wife's food allergies.
Cons: Not much at all however access to a greater number of English speaking TV channels would be nice.
Location: We were able to walk to many of the great attractions offered by Paris. The hotel is close to a number of Metro stops so access to the remainder was v
The hotel is in the heart of a fantastic part of the City. The shopping is first class and there were numerous bars/brassieres nearby. Our room had a small balcony so it was a delight to sit back with good wine and enjoy the ambience of St. Germain des pris.

Charming and central, but rooms are small

Posted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Closeness to shopping streets, Saint Germain des Prés and the Metro. It was a quiet street as well.
Location: Shopping, visiting the area of Odeon and the touristic and charming area of the Saint Germain. In the same street there is a Velib station very useful
My wife and I were a bit surprised with the tininess of the room. The balcony we had on the upper floor gave us an additional charming space to sit outside for the morning coffee. Could not spend long time in the room as it was too small. Nevertheless, the room had abundant day light and was clean.

Funky and Comfotable

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Helpful staff.
Cons: New carpet please
Location: Le Bon Marche, Le Grand Epicerie. Very exclusive shopping in Paris. Middle-class shopping. restaurnats, cafes, bars nearby. Good transport connections
We received a warm reception our first night. I was initially surprised by the overall impression of the hotel, in particular the carpets. I thought they were dirty, my daughter thinks they were just old and had those odd marks often left when carpets are cleaned. In any event, that was my only complaint throughout our six day stay. Reception staff was always helpful, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was great. The room (Junior Suite, 4th fl) looks out on the street but there was no street noise oat night to disturb your sleep. All windows opened which is a big plus for me. It was a generous size. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was a typical French buffet breakfast with bread, cheese, yogurt, cold meats, scrambled eggs, etc. The quality was excellent but don't expect the variety of the Easter buffet at the Hilton. Extra coffee was always available on request. I said my only quibble was about the carpets - not quite true. We had two beds pushed together to make one or two beds as the case may be. If you are using them as singles, they are narrowl, but unless you flail about a lot you quickly get used to them. Location was excellent - 1/2 block from Le Bon Marche, 2 blocks from Sevres-Babylone Metro( very convenient Metro stop. Good value for the money. I would recommend it highly to anyone.

Dear guest, We would like to thank you for reviewing your stay at LE Placide. We are glad to read you enjoy your stay here. All our carpets are quite new (1year) , but unfortuanely cleaning products are strong and can damage it. As you noticed it, we offer a very good quality of products during our breakfast. Variety is not corresponding to Hilton standards but we try to avoid waste. That is true Le Placide is a very good base to visit Paris, with 3 subway lines closed from the hotel, lot of shops and restaurants. Looking forward to welcome you again in our establishment. Sincereyl yours Mme Bessade
