Building works ruined my stay

Posted Nov 16, 2016
Pros: Nothing - building works ruined character of hotel
Cons: Building works ruined my stay - hotel failed to warn me at time of booking that there would be planned building works. Builders climbing over scaffolding in front of bedroom window, lorries delivering at 6:30 am; noise and dust.

BEWARE : Construction work on-going.

Posted Nov 4, 2016
Pros: Location.
Cons: To be somehow compensated for the construction work.
Location: The restaurants in the centre of Montparnasse are not good value. Head towards town for better value/food/service. Also, try latin quarter.
Paris is a walkable city so I found this a perfect location. I wasn't told about the construction and wasn't told in advance or offered alternatives. You cannot get a good nights sleep here...even at weekends. Very disappointing. The room itself was tiny which is fine for Paris. What I wanted was a relaxing week in the city with my girlfriend. Sadly, we didn't have one lie in. Knowing about the construction the hotel or Expedia should have warned/offered alternatives.

Wonderful stay in a large room for a great price.

Posted Nov 3, 2016
The Lenox Montparnasse is on a quiet street in a great section of town. There are daily street markets nearby and it is close to the wonderful Luxenburg Gardens. There are a number of good eating spots in the area. We have stayed at different hotels in our 6 stays in Paris and think that this was the best value for a really, really nice hotel. We found the "Junior Suite" to be the huge by Paris standards, immaculately maintained with a wonderful front-desk staff, an inviting common area (with honesty bar) and a good breakfast. There are several Metro stops nearby with quick access to all the high points of Paris and it is an interesting area to walk. We discovered in Amsterdam the evening we had left the Lenox that we hadn't completely cleared the safe and had left an expensive set of earrings. After calling the reception next day, the earrings were couriered back to us in Canada for which we have only great things to say about all of the staff and especially Magdelana at reception ( who had great restaurant recommendations too ). We would totally recommend a stay at the Lenox.

Great Location, Nice Staff

Posted Oct 31, 2016
Pros: Staff, Location
Cons: No problems!
Location: Lots of cafes, supermarket and easy shopping
The hotel is very close to two subway stops and on a busy commercial street. It's great for first time visitors to Paris like ourselves. The room was much more spacious than other European hotels that we have seen and was quite pleasant. We found the staff to be very helpful. On check in the elevator was not working and the front desk clerk lifted two suitcases up two flights of stairs without hesitation. Everyone at the front was always helpful with good advice about what train to take etc. Staff remembered us and our room which is always nice.

Nice location on the left bank

Posted Oct 25, 2016
Pros: Hotel is on a side street, quiet and not to busy. Breakfast was a reasonable cost for a full hot and cold. Had an elevator, nice for baggage.
Cons: Not sure
Location: Good Brasseries, shops and restaurants all around. A 20 min walk to St Germain through Luxembourg Gardens or a short Metro ride 2 stops.
Hotel staff are second to none. They were very helpful and interested in where you were going and if you enjoyed the experience. If yes, then they wanted the details so they could pass this on to someone else. You could take breakfast there or just at either end of the street an abundance of cafes. The Metro had a stop at either end of the street that gave you two different lines to choose from. This was a Rick Steve's approved hotel as we found out from some of the guest staying there.
