Small, modern , close to metro station attractions

Posted May 22, 2017
Clean, convenient. Has elevator. Air conditioning has to be requested, since the heat settings are programmed till May, had to keep windows open. Clean sheets, courteous staff. No restaurant. Some breakfast available. Very close to everything. Good value for the price . Safe enough to walk around, restaurants very near. Near attractions, Moulin rouge, montmartre , champs elysees

Great hotel

Posted May 15, 2017
The hotel is approx 20 mins taxi ride from the airport. It's not right in the middle of the attractions but you only have to take a short metro or bus ride to get anywhere. Travel on public transport is cheap. The reception staff at the hotel were brilliant. They recommended the best way to get to certain places and where to eat. The room was compact but adequate for what we needed. It was very clean and modern and the bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning didn't seem to work so we had to keep the windows open all the time otherwise it got very hot. The buffet breakfast was good. There was plenty of variety and even a hot option of bacon, sausage and eggs. The scrambled eggs are a very odd texture but the other choices were good. The only thing that let breakfast down was that the tables were not cleared quick enough. We regularly has to ask the member of staff for cutlery and cups etc. It was only a small breakfast area. It appeared that they only had a small amount of cutlery and crockery so they were washing it up in between rather than clear tables. Perhaps they could get more crockery etc so the member of staff are then able to clear tables. All in all the hotel was good and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Paris. It was a great price from Expedia, including breakfast it was approx £250 for 3 nights. When I looked at their advertised walk in price they charge about £150 a night not including breakfast so this was a bargain.

Nice hotel - got a window and tub

Posted May 8, 2017
Our room was small as most Europeans hotels but it was nice and neat. I asked for a tub and got one which made for a nice unwinding after all the walking from town. Lots of mini night life around the hotel as well as close to the metro station. Unlike other parts of Paris, feels safe walking around at night. Bring your own hair products for sure but dryer provided. Great heating and cooling for your preference. The main desk guy was the sweetest and so helpful. They gave us ice from the bar and even a corcskrew - would recommend!

Looks better than it is! Not deserving of 4 star.

Posted Mar 28, 2017
Pros: Reception staff were friendly. The lobby is quite stylish.
Cons: Room decor - paintwork is tired and scruffy, carpets a bit shabby. No toiletries provided except some unispiring shower gel in a dispenser.
Location: Montmartre is quite close, 15 minute walk.
Ok-ish hotel in an ok-ish location. Pleasant and clean reception area and nice staff, but the rooms are tiny and pretty shabby too. Bedroom walls badly scuffed and marks, could really do with a lick of paint. Bedrooms are tiny but I think that's quite standard for Paris. WIFI awful, really patchy and frustrating. Overall I think we probably could have chosen better.

Loved it!

Posted Mar 16, 2017
We loved staying at this hotel. It's really close to the metro, get off at Rome or a nice walk from villiers. Our room was on the 8th floor so had an amazing view of the City. The breakfast was great! I'd recommend it. Sometimes a little slow to replenish the buffet but all good when we asked. The room was clean and tidy, nice soft bed sheets although a little small as most rooms are in Paris. Air con was nice as it was a really hot weekend when we went. Also loved the big windows. Our check in was also great as we got there a little early and didn't have to wait around. Great stay!

Weekend Stay - Paris

Lovely little hotel to use as a great base for exploring the city. Fantastic service throughout. Very quiet surrounding area with lots of little places to eat. Short walk to the Champs-Élysées and a couple of stops away from Quartier Pigalle on the Metro.

Absolutely awful. Rude and lazy staff with attitude and a chip on their shoulder. No concept of service. Room given was for one person. Had to leave after the first night to find a better hotel.

Dear guest, We regret to learn that you didn’t appreciate your stay in our hotel. However we want to clarify a couple of things about this situation. Your booking was made for 2 people so you were given a standard double room for 2. After the first night we noticed that you were 3 people to occupy the room which, for safety reason, is not allowed in that category of room. That is the reason why we had to ask you to change for the upper category of rooms, which is suitable for 3 people, for an additional cost, offer that you refuse. If you had made your booking for 3 people at the beginning we would have been able to make all the necessary arrangement before your arrival to make sure that you can enjoy your stay. Be sure that all the staff at the Mercure Saint Lazare Monceau is dedicated to ensure the satisfaction of our guests. Norbert IMBERT General Manager
