City Hotel with Tiny Rooms
Posted Jan 27, 2016
The hotel is located close to the Metro and lots of small stores, but unfortunately the rooms were
disappointing. We asked for a bigger room, since our first room barely had space enough for the
suitcases. The upgrade featured a bathroom without hooks for towels, the shelf in front of the mirror
wasn't level, so nothing could be placed on it, and there was no shower curtain.
The keys had to be given to the front desk every time we wanted to step out even for a few minutes,
sometimes we had to wait a while until somebody was available to return the key to us when we came back.
All that fell under the category "you get what you pay for," but what was really a deal breaker for us
was the fact that they bothered us every day with phone calls at 9am to ask if we wanted breakfast or
room service. Despite repeated complains this never stopped, until we unplugged the phone.
Consequently they knocked on our door instead, and even dared to enter and clean the room in our
absence although we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door.
The management promised to instruct the illiterate cleaning ladies on the issue, but they still entered
against our wishes and placed fresh towels on the desk, although we explicitly stated we didn't need
The hotel itself was just a little below average, but due to the lack of privacy and peaceful mornings we
will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.
