Nicely placed in beautiful Montparnasse, French traditional decor with lovely welcoming staff who speaks English. Delicious breakfast is served every morning, and if you want to explore Paris like locals the hotel is close by many options of public transportation.

Wonderful lovely hotel in great left bank location

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Pros: Rooms were lovely and front desk staff so helpful!
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Great base to explore the Left Bank Easy public transportation for all of Paris The Montparnasse Train station to visit other cities is easy walk
We have been looking fro a new Paris hotel since the Lutetia closed about three years ago. Tried a few others, but decided upon the Victoria Palace on the recommendation of two sisters we meet on a prior trip. We weren't disappointed! The room are a nice size, very comfortable and clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was terrific and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. We will be returning!!

Not a 5* for me

Posted Nov 12, 2017
Before arriving at the hotel I was at a conference taking place at another 5* hotel near Opera. When entering through the front doors I immediately felt the contrast. The hotel is very small, lobby and front desk are tiny, there's only room for one person at front desk. I had contacted Emma before arriving at the hotel and they were very accommodating with the room specification so I was quite pleased. Other than that the hotel is small and doesn't give you a 5* experience. We couldn't wake up early for breakfast and opted for continental breakfast brought to our room, although the idea sounds very exciting for someone who's not a morning person, when they eventually arrived, it didn't take long to see that's largely leftovers from breakfast. The fruit was stale and the selection very very limited. The products forming part of breakfast were very average supermarket brands, nothing special at all. Although I have nothing against president butter, I'd expect a 5* hotel to go the extra mile and provide me with something I wouldn't find in the supermarket tomorrow. Ultimately the breakfast was poor, rooms average, staff at front desk not the most helpful, borderline rude. I simply would not return to this hotel again. For €50 more euros per night I can stay in the most luxurious hotels in Paris. I travel often and like to explore other hotels but this sadly was a disappointment.

Comfortable room and friendly staff

Posted Nov 6, 2017
The hotel is at a quiet enclave not far from metro stations. Rooms are spacious in Parisian standard and pleasantly decorated. The first night we were waken up by renovation noises in next building. We complained to hotel staff and were moved to an interior room. We did not hear the noises any more. The hotel didn’t seem to attract large tour group which is a plus.

Thank you for your kind comments. The noise was not actually from any construction : what looks like a building site next door is a building having its façade cleaned. That makes no noticeable noise. However there was a delivery at the shop next door : we have formally complained and we expect such deliveries not to happen again at undue hours.

Decent value

Posted Oct 23, 2017
Pros: Location was fine. It was not on a main street so was generally pretty quiet. Breakfast area was beautiful w/ attentive staff.
Hotel was generally pretty good. We did get conflicting information from from desk staff on tours, etc. They sold us tickets to a museum to use on a day when the Musee D'Orsay was closed. I was also told by one staff member that he could not help us with tickets to the Louvre; later that same day another staff member sold us tickets directly from the front desk.

Thank you for your feedback. We'll look into these inconsistencies and make sure the Front Desk is more careful. Please accept our apologies.

pleasant enough

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Pros: Size of room and quiet room
Cons: Dated decor, bathroom, shower etc.
Location: Loads of shops and restaurants on left bank within walking distance
A grand size room overlooking interior courtyard so it was quiet but the room and hotel overall are quite dated.

We are happy you found the hotel pleasant. The dated look is quite deliberate : all of the public areas were refurbished in depth over the last four years.
