Quiet....quiet
It is a nice little hotel and the personnel is O.K. They accommodate us with another room because of the noise with the air conditioner. Unfortunately the pool is cleaned ONLY once a week and the pomp in the pool are not operating so it leaves all kind of sediments at the bottom and in the water. The facilities mentioned on the add were not available because there was not enough guesses (two or three rooms occupied). The hotel is VERY far from everything. Need ABSOLUTELY a car to go around. The publicity mentioned a beach located nearby and the personnel confirmed it. Unfortunately the only beach nearby has a very dangerous access and can accommodate about 4 to 5 persons... sitting very close to one another.

close to air port and the rooms are clean
bus stop is close , but after 7 ;30 -pm it takes a long time to get a bus back to the hotel

Nice quiet hotel!!
Nice reasonable hotel, distance from town. Transportation right outside hotel which is a plus. Employees nice, easy going and friendly. Room comfortable. Will stay again.

Horrible hotel with horrible staff.
We never would have booked this hotel if not for the limited last minute avilablity on the island. $200 a night for a junk hotel like this is crazy. Within hours of booking this hotel we had to cancel our reservation due to an emergency. They refused to refund any of our $600 charge to stay for 3 days. It also took Expedia a week to get ahold of anyone at the hotel to request the refund. Expedia says they don't charge cancellation fees but if you get charged cancellation fees then it seems that advertising that is very misleading. Customer service here stinks.

We are very happy with our stay. It is the third time. When we arrived we were greeted like family coming home and have been treated like that all the time here. This motel is close to nice beaches and cutters of Barbados. Also very good food is available here which must be arranged ahead. Overall our stay was very excellent. Earl & Doreen Cusack

The hotel is comparable to any but the worse thing was the bed. The bathroom had an area. Of water seepage in the wall. Sure that should not be left unattended for visitors to see.

Staff is simply very very very nice but there is nothing here, it is way too far from everything. 60-70 Barbados dollars every single time you will take a taxi to Bridgetown ... No WiFi in the room so we squatted the front-desk for hours, no food options, no room service, we got ripped off with food delivery (40 USD for 2 tiny chicken sandwich) ants in the room, noisy fridge.

Nice hotel, remote but bus stop right outside
Some reviewers have written adversely about remoteness. I found this a plus, nice and quiet with a bus stop right outside. Caught a bus whenever we wanted to go to restaurants mainly in Oistin, Bridgetown was an hour away on the bus. One negative, pool needed cleaning as did the pool furniture.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our studio apartment was extremely spacious and well equipped. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We will be recommending this hotel to family and friends.

Great value and sleepy gem in Barbados
Very pleasant stay in a sleepy neighborhood. Comfortable, clean, AC, great wifi, safe place with very friendly staff. Only knock is that you would need a car or take some public transportation (which is easily accessible) to get to beaches & restaurants.

The price is good for what you get.
The apartment was not too bad, spacious room with a small kitchen, fridge and a balcony . The bus stop is close by . But the sea is quite far away and the supermarket. The staff are very friendly and polite and that makes a lot of difference...

We enjoyed our stay at Tropical Winds. The staff were very nice and helpful. The only issue was that we were unable to watch any cable stations like CNN. It was an overnight stay but we will return to Tropical Winds in the future .

Enjoyed our stay very much. The House keeping lady Margaret was a delightful person and Anderson in the dining room was excellent. The meals that we had there were very good indeed. Two small items to make things even better, it would be nice to have a small container of washing up liquid and a sponge, J cloth available to wash cups and saucers etc, and the safes in the two rooms we occupied were not functional. Apart from that, we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Would stay there again.Great value for money.

Exactly what i wanted
I needed a place to stay for an overnight layover. It was perfect for that. It was not expensive, yet the room was great and perfect for my needs. It is apart from the main Barbados tourist attractions but that was not what I was looking for anyway. If you are interested in a clean and friendly atmosphere, I would recommend this place.

Nice hotel but too quiet a location
It was a very nice hotel ,clean,air conditioned rooms and a communal swimming pool. The only problem might be the location as its a little off the beaten path . For those who would prefer their hotel located nearer the beach or centres of activities then this would not suit your needs. It's about a 20 min drive (yes you'll need to hire a car if you choose this hotel) to the nearest beach . But overall, this hotel is for guests who would want a stay in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist trail .

Stayed for 3 nights. Hotel is away from excitement, so if you want to chill this is the place to go. if you want to go into town, it is only a bus ride away and $2.00 and takes approx 50 mins. It's also near to the airport. Polite and friendly staff, especially Receptionist. Food was very tasty. Rooms were very clean and had all the necessary facilities. Only snag was the satellite channels were not working, but a DVD was provided with a selection of films (although films were not brilliant quality). It is a place that I would stay again because it is peaceful. Not a place to go if you want to be where all the partying is going on or a beach on your doorstep.

A lovely Place to Stay and Relax
This hotel was very nice yet simple and I could not ask for better because the package was very reasonable. The staff was very warm, kind and welcoming, the up keep of the place was excellent. In the evening time you can relax with lovely evening breeze, Rooms and Premises are cleaned every day as a rule, there's a restaurant at the hotel, overall the food was nice and well served. I will recommend this hotel to anyone that's looking for a comfortable stay in Barbados , only thing though it is not far from the airport but a good distance from bridge town the city, taxi will get you there faster than the bus any day. Buses pass by frequently and there is a bus stop just outside the hotel's entrance There are three beaches not to far away, but not much activity on that side of the coast. The manager of the hotel Mrs. Blenman seems to be a charming down to earth person, which I admired her for while I was there. Please stay at tropical winds hotel :)

Unexpectedly perfect
I was nervous about staying somewhere so "affordable." It turned out to be perfect. Quiet, discreet, close to public transportation and a couple grocery stores. We walked over to the ocean (it wasnt a beach as we were high up on the cliffs, but it is always great being on the coast). The staff was great. Breakfast our first morning was absolutely delicious. It was just perfect for our needs.

the staff were excellent in every way, so friendly & helpful. the whole place was very clean & tidy, & quiet, and the pool was cleaned every morning and the surrounding areas. the staff chatted to me as if they had known me all their life and offered advice about places to visit and the cheapest or quickest way I felt that I had met new friends for the staff were so polite and wanted to help as much as they could to make my stay comfortable. the only downside was the restaurant's menu, as it rarely had the food that was on there, and the evening meal became a bit of a farce, but food was well cooked and presented. I would return and would recommend this hotel but you do need a car to get around

Good economical, clean, safe place to stay.
Good place to stay for budget minded traveler. Clean quiet rooms. Restaurant serves good food at somewhat high prices. Location is not near tourist areas or beaches, but good for short stay duration, or for travelers looking to tour the island with their own means of transportation. Good place to simply sleep and go venture out for the day to see the island. Friendly low key hotel on the southeastern part of the island, about 15 minutes from the airport.

I was only there for 2 nights. It is a 20 min drive to the airport, a little bit difficult to find and has limited services nearby. You MUST have a car if you're going to stay at this hotel. People were nice, beds a little hard, limited cable stations (14 or less), had to move the microwave around to plug in; fridge wasn't turned on at arrival. First night no hot water. Won't be staying again although have a feeling that it could be a nice place to stay for extended period (1 wk plus).

An Overlooked Gem
Remember, you came to Barbados for Barbados and not for the hotel room. Tropical Winds is quite out of the way, but excellent value with an amazing staff!

This was a nice hotel, clean well maintained. We just didn't know at the time of booking how far out it was. No where to eat but at the hotel. The waiter was not very friendly. Lawn mower was going early in the morning. The maid on the other hand was very friendly and helpful. We also didn't know how far we had to walk to get to the beach. We never did find the beach but were told by several people that there is a nice beach close by. The hotel had nice grounds and a nice pool, so if some one wants a place to just hand out around the pool and peaceful this is the place for you.

This hotel is in desperate need of a thorough cleaning and sprucing up! It is extremely dreary and depressing. In addition, there is absolutely nothing around this hotel. You are actually in the middle of nowhere!!! On my second day at Tropical Winds there was no water for the whole day and the receptionist at the front desk could not tell me when the water would be back on! However, she did tell me that the water truck would be passing by shortly and that I should get a bucket so that I could collect some water from the truck, so that I could freshen up! In my opinion, you should never tell a guest what this receptionist told me!! This hotel should have an arrangement with a neighbouring hotel to shuttle their guests to if they are unable to provide the necessities that their guests have paid for!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL, UNLESS OF COURSE YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR OWN BUCKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
