Rooms take in outside air and SMOKE!

Posted Mar 10, 2017
Cons: see above.
People smoke too close to the building and the smoke is drawn in throughout the heating/air conditioning inlets and you can smell it in the room. There was some idiot who left his dog in the room while he went out and it barked constantly. People should be told to tell their children NOT to run and yell in the hallways. For 3 days I stepped over the food someone spattered on the sidewalk right outside (back) of the lobby building. I can't believe the workers were so lazy that they couldn't clean it up. Hotel staff should be quieter while talking in the hallway. At one point, they were yelling down the hallway to one another.

Very nice place but SoCal layout in NJ

Posted Nov 27, 2016
Location: Visiting family so don't have comment on attractions. About an hour to NYC, 40 min from EWR.
Staff were great except for those preparing breakfast who were testy when we asked for help locating things, maybe unhappy about working on Thanksgiving. The breakfast itself was ok, I'm on an all protein diet so found the warmed over scrambled eggs and different cheap meats each day--my only options--to be pretty disappointing, however they had some pastries and self-made waffles which smelled great. The dishes in the room kitchen were old and worn (had that rough surface that comes with too many cycles through the dishwasher) but clean. Room well tended otherwise and housekeeping staff very friendly. Front desk accommodated a last minute room change without trouble since the nature of the room wasn't clear from Expedia website. The only significant criticism I have is that the building with the pool and jacuzzi, which is pretty nice, is separate from any guest rooms, so to use these you have to go outside (35-45 F during our stay) and walk about 150 feet. There are small changing rooms in the pool building which help some with this. In warmer months this wouldn't be a problem but someone in the Marriott architecture department wasn't thinking ahead on locating this layout in New Jersey. I would recommend this hotel to families, overall I'd go back when I need to be in the area, preferably in the summer.

Small glitches

Posted Oct 11, 2016
Location: Location served my purposes.
There was trash left on top of the refrigerator...My WiFi wasn't working...and this was in one of the more expensive rooms...Hotel staff directed me to the wrong section to find my room...I've stayed here 2 times before this with no problems...I would still continue to book here..it is a very nice hotel...
