5 star hotel. 3 star room.

Pros: Grounds and staff.
Was in the Lanai Building, non pool side. Smallish room, but comfortable. Bathroom is definitely small. Sink had the cold water handle broken and the hot water handle needing to be cranked down very hard to keep from leaking. Very comfortable bed. HVAC unit's fan a little loud, even on low. Grounds are beautiful. Valet and staff are very welcoming.

Nice hotel with a big beautiful garden.

Pros: Elegant garden
Great, will stay longer next time. Take longer time staying in the hotel, to enjoy the facilities,e.g. spa, restaurant, etc. killing time in bar should be a great idea to enjoy the snack and cocktails.

A gracious historical property.

Pros: Location. Decoration, both inside and out. The pleasant, friendly capable well trained staff.
Cons: Housekeeping might test the drain in the bathroom sinks and the condition of the cups they provide.
All staff members are well trained, pleasant and competent. The folks handling parking were superb in their ability to handle a large number of autos arriving at about 1700 on Christmas Eve. The only issue with the room; the sink in the bath drained very slowly. Upon checking out I left a note with the woman at the desk informing the hotel of the sink's condition. She was appreciative. We had a light breakfast and coffee in our room. One of the coffee cups had a chip in the lip of the cup. I put a note in the empty cup suggesting it was time to retire that cup. All in all, a wonderful one night stay.

Christmas at the Langham

Pros: The room was very nice.
Cons: 1. We stayed in the Huntington Suite. Three people. Only one robe and one slippers. Called down to room service to bring two more up. Never came.
Location: Short ride to Old Town and the Huntington Library.
Beautifully decorated. Very festive. Called the Royce, the on site steakhouse and left a message around 2 PM for a 7 PM reservation. Never got a call back. Called again around 6 and staff said sorry no openings. He said they were too busy to call me and let me know that. Horrible service.

The Ritz but Not

This hotel was awesome when it was run by the Ritz. Now it’s an antic with staff that hesitated to do anything. I was a VIP according to expedia but wasn’t offered anything VIP. In fact, I felt like this place didn’t want me there. Especially, after finding my room wasn’t made up when I came around 4pm, I called the house keeping and the person responded “do you want your room cleaned?!”! impatiently.

Beautiful and historical hotel.

Pros: The gardens Christmas decorations and the over all experience.
We came to area to visit the Getty, Descanso Gardens and to see Hamilton. We did the short informative tour and enjoyed it.
