Surprise upgrade to Luxury at its finest.

Posted Oct 12, 2017
Pros: Beautiful hotel and grounds, nice restaurants and bar. Attentive and friendly staff.
Location: Hotel shuttle available to go 5 minutes to downtown Pasadena or Rose Bowl parking. Just minutes from LA.
Got a great surprise when checking in for a night to attend a concert. Our deluxe king room had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite! Property has some small buildings in residential neighborhood adjacent to hotel. Very stately and private this upstairs unit in two story house had living room, kitchen, dining room, large master bedroom with office and bath, with large outside patio, lounge area, barbecue, table and chairs with 360 degree views of LA skyline!! We could have had a party for 10 to 20 people comfortably!

Beautiful hotel and setting. Enjoyed the stay. The pool was understaffed and lacked enough towels which was a bit disappointing, but overall the stay was very nice

If booked through Expedia don't pay twice

Posted Oct 9, 2017
My only bad part is although I paid for my stay through Expedia the hotel charged me again as well as the deposit. So I ended up being charged over 500 for one night that was suppose to be 170 I had paid when I booked the room and I wasn't aware until after the front desk said nothing.

Nice hotel, food and service let it down a little.

Posted Oct 8, 2017
Nice hotel. quality rooms, unfortunately, we had the heavy elephant family above us who seemed to just walk around their room stamping their feet all evening, at least it sounded like it. That is not the hotels fault though just inconsiderate guests. Nice stay, great facilities. Only gripe is that pool bar food was poor quality, dry stale salads, over cooked food. Food in the other restaurants was good.

Nice hotel But only for the rich and famous

Posted Oct 8, 2017
We had booked a hotel in Arcadia but it was under renovation. Very Dusty and noisy so we looked for something else on Expedia. The Langham looked nice and Expedia said they had rooms available. We directly checked into the Langham but the clerk at the front desk said they were booked. What? So we went back to our car and booked through expedia, glad we had a room. We called our wing of the hotel ‘the Expedia wing’. It must be where they put their guest that can only pay discounted prices. They view was over looking the parking lot. The room was tiny. The smoke alarm went off the first night. The carpet was gross. It smelled old and musty. All of this for $350 a night. The staff was willing to help you if you were dressed appropriately Parking is ONLY VALEY at $30 a day. They didn’t make this clear when we checked in and the Valet Manager gave us basically threatened us when we left for the airport that we were lucky that our car wasn’t towed. He was not at all nice. Ive stayed at some very nice places all around the world and will put the Langham at the bottom of the list. I wouldn’t recommend it and I have no idea why it has 4 stars unless you like to pay for crap. Our last stay in the LA area was at the JW Marriott. About the same price as the Langham but loved it. The staff was kind, rooms were quiet and clean. Do your homework before wasting your money here

Dear rasp, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are of course disappointed to hear of the issues which you experienced during your stay and truly apologize for the lapses in service. I can assure you that this is indeed an anomaly and not at all typical of the service and product that we strive to provide, and for which we have long been known. We are currently undergoing a thorough and property-wide guestroom refresh to replace carpeting, drapery, paint and much more in each and every room, which should ameliorate a number of the aforementioned problems. In addition I apologize for the miscommunication and issue with our valet company, with whom I will review these comments; indeed with extremely limited space and in the middle of a private neighborhood, we are restricted to valet services only and want to ensure that our guests are not ticketed or towed by the city if they self-park on the streets or any surrounding area. Please know that I have reviewed your feedback in detail with the appropriate department managers, as we continue to work hard to be better every day. We hope to have a chance to welcome you again in the future for a truly flawless stay. Best Regards, Vern Lakusta Director of Hotel Operations

A 5 dtar resort run like a 2 star hotel

Posted Oct 8, 2017
Untrainea staffed, way too few of staff, the pool only has 1 waiter , restaurant dtaff is overwhelmed with the crowd they have to deal with, it is very much a do it yourself place. The worst was front desk , incompetent, or not telling the truth and rude. Price is way up there like four seaons but service of red roof in

Great Historic Hotel in Pasadena, CA

Posted Oct 6, 2017
Pros: Everything except parking costs
Cons: Parking costs are not fair.
Location: Hill top location in a quiet and upscale part of town. Beautiful and well kept grounds with patios and portals.
The Langham is on a beautiful hilltop spot in Pasadena. The facility huge and is well kept and beautiful. The staff is professional, friendly and happy. It has a great bar and a great restaurants with outdoor dining areas. It's a wonderful resort with all the amenities including tennis courts, miniature golf, bean bag toss, and badminton. The Thursday night we were there, which was the last of the month, there was outdoor Yoga on the back lawn. That next Friday night there was live Jazz in the bar. What more could anybody want - we are coming back to stay again for sure. One note of caution - parking is expensive and only by Valet. If you incidentally park by Valet, even for 5 minutes, it's $14. All day or overnight is $29.

Landmark Hotel in Pasadena

Posted Oct 1, 2017
Pros: - Classic architecture & beautiful grounds - Comfortable, updated room with semi-private patio - Friendly, helpful staff - Proximity to town
Cons: - Staffing at bar & restaurant - They seemed unprepared for a wedding party & guests which resulted in long wait times - Hallway carpets were stained
Location: - Location is in Pasadena, an older CA resort town with lots of history
- Hotel staff very friendly & helpful - received an upgraded room during check-in - Restaurant was under-staffed - wedding party & guests seem to overwhelm the bar & restaurant - Room was lovely with a semi-private patio - Hotel grounds & surrounds were beautiful

Dear Jwwatl, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, and we are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your overall stay, especially the accommodations and service you received from our staff. I do apologize, however, for the wait times which you experienced due to the heavy volume of guests from the event; please know that I have reviewed your comments with our Tap Room manager and team so that we may better prepare in advance for these types of issues and such wait times do not continue to occur. I am pleased to note, however, that we are currently in the process of replacing all guest corridor carpeting from top to bottom of the hotel, which should ameliorate the wear and tear issue which you mentioned. We look forward to an opportunity to welcome you back again for a truly flawless visit! Best Regards, Vern Lakusta Director of Hotel Operations
