Enjoyed my brief visit to Mexico

Posted Sep 21, 2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Good location
The Marquis Reforma is in my opinion by far the best hotel to stay in Mexico City ! I have gone and stayed in Mexico City a myriad times ! During my latest visit the Marquis staff had to assist the guests with issues related to the 7.1 earthquake on 9/19/2017. They did a wonderful job ! I would rate everything at the Marquis as TOPS ! Including: service, comfort, cleanliness and food. On top of that they have the best SPA of any hotel in Mexico City !

Excellent stay

Posted Aug 17, 2017
My husband and I stayed there after a trip to Toluca. We found the room absolutely comfortable, quiet, with a great air conditioning, rolling curtains besides the regular ones. The room had everything we asked for in a Hotel room when we travel, (and we do travel a lot) , cleanliness, peace and quiet, comfort, friendly and helpful staff, nice quiet pool to relax and of course delicious food.

So many faults, its hard to give a positive review

Posted Aug 8, 2017
Pros: Attention and breakfast
Cons: Facilities upgrade, cleanliness, construction/noise, price.
Location: Needed an uber to get to most places, Reforma is loud.
Stayed for 6 nights, moved rooms 4 times... the staff tried to make it better but it didn't help: first room was dirty, second and third room were loud - 1) they had construction going on, changing the carpets with a stabbing sound from 7:30AM & 2) rooms were across from service door and employees made a ton of noise even though 'DND' sign was on door. They did upgrade us to a suite to try to help the situation but it wasn't until the 4th room where we were able to get sound rest - as expected for vacation. I also had a face cream stolen from the bathroom... in the end they gave me a credit for the value and they also gave us 3 days of free breakfast in the restaurant, which was pretty good. Overall the condition of the hotel is very dated, the carpets are old and dirty, the staff is very cordial and work hard to make the traveler happy, however I don't think the price is fair for the value you get back. Is too expensive.

Dear Mrs. Hernandez, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience regarding you stay with us. I would like to share with you that we are in the process of changing the carpets in the rooms as well as the hallways, - this project will be finish by the end of November - that is why there was noise in some areas of the Hotel. Also, we just launch 15 spectacular new suites at the PH of the Hotel, most of them with terrace overlooking Paseo de la Reforma. Please accept my sincere apologies for not having met your expectations. We appreciate your preference and we hope you can give us the opportunity to serve you soon again. Warms Regards, Sara Lizarraga Quality Manager

Made our Honeymoon!

Posted Aug 1, 2017
Pros: Absolutely everything!
Cons: Something rattled at night outside the room we were in either on top of the hotel or nearby, so if you're a light sleeper it could be annoying for you
Location: See above! The park nearby is lovely as are the local museums. The Anthropological Museum is fab, the turibus tours and the historic centre!
It was our first trip to Mexico City as part of our Honeymoon, and as soon as we arrived Xavier couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, and at the desk for a little bit more money we were upgraded to the Master Suite which had a piano and a large terrace overlooking the city which was wonderful! The spa treatments were excellent, we had two each during our week stay. Breakfast every morning was made a delight being waited on by Jesus during the week, such a happy and easy to chat to chap, we loved coming down to eat knowing he'd look after our every need, and on the weekend Adan was also attentive and easy to chat too. I didn't catch the concierge's name but he recommended the tour bus for us and was incredibly insightful for tips and hints for what to do and how to get about the city. The hotel is right next to lots of museums and a short uber ride to the historic centre and a tour bus stops near enough right outside. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough to anyone wanting to come visit the city, especially if it's your first visit like ours.

Sophisticated, Great Location. Adults-Only Pool

Posted Jun 27, 2017
Pros: Staff, staff, staff. From top to bottom they are a very impressive lot.
Cons: HVAC in room. Larger common area. POOL INACCESSIBLE FOR CHILDREN.
Location: Right on the Avenida Reforma, just fall out of your hotel and great neighborhoods are north, south, and east of you.
A well kept 5-star hotel. Common areas are beautiful, if not as large en masse as competing 5-star options; one of the great things about springing for a 5-star is the larger and classy common areas to lounge around, that was just a bit lacking. But the extra service and stellar attention to detail that you'll get from a 5-star and usually not a 4/3-star property is absolutely there at the Marquis Reforma. Our room's HVAC system seemed to keep things terribly warm at night - as they'd upgraded our space without requesting so it seemed a more than fair trade to our favor, but it was indeed hot in the room at night for some reason and I suspect a more tightly controlled HVAC maintenance check regimen for every unit would have eliminated that problem. Attend the Sunday buffet if you're there then, you'll love it and they break out all the stops. I was duly impressed with the night manager's professionalism. I would certainly stay there again and recommend to others. POOL INACCESSIBLE FOR CHILDREN; while I did really like this great hotel, it is important for future bookers that they know this going in, as we bought partly on those pictures of the pool and as the parents of 8 and 10 yr olds we could have had more quality/cultural/adventurous time to ourselves if we could have left our daughters and their phones at the pool occasionally.
