Loved Everything

Posted Jul 30, 2017
Pros: Everything. Especially the kid who was doing the smores. He was great.
Cons: The artwork didn't match the hotel them (that is not a complaint, but commentary). LOL.
Location: Location is great.
There was nothing not to like about our stay. Everything was great.

Uniquely luxurious but sweet hotel

Posted Jul 23, 2017
This hotel is very small and uses that to great advantage. The rooms are lovely and spacious with plenty of storage, the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms nicely decorated with a shower and good lighting for makeup (so my wife tells me). However, it isn't the facilities but the staff and the atmosphere that makes this place special. Nothing is too much trouble and when you ask anything of anyone they just take care of it, whether it is their job to or not. They have live music in the bar and a fire with s'mores in the courtyard which can be a bit warm at 40C! We would definitely stay again.

Unusual boutique hotel focused on perfection

Posted May 30, 2017
Cons: An effort to produce a better range of teas and coffees would be good. Limited range of teabags in the mornings we stayed - no plain tea only decaf!
It is a purpose-built property apparently and the owner seems to have overcome the urge to add in pools, lifts and gyms and spas etc. So it has a great authentic feel of a courtyard home. The rooms appear to be generally large and the bathrooms were sensibly designed for max comfort of two guests. The breakfast was similarly well designed around a few simple offerings and hot food added only at weekends. Because Paso Robles is such a foody destination I imagine most guests would have eaten extremely well at lunch and dinner, so it is sensible not to throw too much in the way of fancy eggs and pancakes for breakfast since it is not really valuable in this kind of setting, Music in the breakfast room which doubles as the Pony Club bar/eatery from the late afternoon into the twilight and evenings was lovely. The sounds of happy people was not too intrusive in our room because it was on the other side of the building, Ask for a quiet room if the noise from the Pony Club might be a nuisance for you.

Claustrophobic room. Bar only served wine and beer, no liquor. Hotel only had 4 or 5 parking spaces.

Quaint, comfortable and a real gem

Posted Mar 14, 2017
Hotel has lots of character. Beautiful courtyard with little hidden nooks to sit on comfy couches. Gorgeous outdoor patio. The room was v clean, comfortable and new, with a gas fireplace. We only stayed one night but loved it. One negative - complimentary breakfast was a little sparse. No eggs, and no one to serve or even ask for water.
