Conference Hotel but no internet and phone lines

Posted Apr 12, 2017
I was woken up by large banging at my door late at night the first day I arrived. I was travelling and had not slept for 40 hours and was in the middle of a deep sleep. I mentioned I was sleeping and also did not feel comfortable opening the door to a strange man at night. The hotel was open to the street so it could have been anyone. I attempted to call the reception but the lines were disconnected so I told the man who wanted me to go to reception that I would go in the morning. He left and I drifted back into sleep. A little while later another set of banging on my door and the demand that I go to reception immediately since it was important At what was about 1100pm I followed this man to what I hoped with reception and there waiting for me were a group of women. The one who was fluent in English mentioned that my hotel room had been double billed and they needed my card to correct their problem. I was furious and said you woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me that you had double billed me. Could this not wait until the morning. No, they needed to correct the problem that night. Really. I also paid the extra to stay at that hotel because it was a convention hotel and I needed reliable internet since I was travelling on business. Internet access was pretty much non existent at this hotel and for the first few days I had no telephone access. The waiters, porters and cleaning staff were great however most if the reception staff were a bit unwelcoming.

You need to have a car

Posted Jan 28, 2017
Location: The hotel is easy to find and very accessible. Unfortunately it is necessary to have a car, or you will need to rely on local transportation
The hotel rates very highly except in terms of location. Unless you want to use a taxi it is necessary to have a car. The hotel is well maintained, very clean and has spacious well appointed rooms. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

Weak/sporadic wifi and no hot water in the afternoons nor evenings. The restaurant is great and comfortable and the room is cozy.

I was very nicely surprised by the effort made by the hotel to improve once more the qualitiy of their services and is once more a wonderful place to stay in Patzcuaro Michoacan.

Colonial stay.

It was a really good stay. My only wish was that the bed/mattress was more comfortable. Hotel is very colonial and has rich history. Having a restaurant on site is a great convenience, great food too.
