A five star experiencePosted Apr 10, 2017
Pros: Rooms, views, sitting/eating areas, breakfast, staff.
Cons: I wouldn't change a thing.
Location: Lots of excellent traditional restaurants. Beautiful town that even includes a really cool hard rock bar. Starting point for drives and walks.
Perfect location within one of the most scenic villages of one of the most charmed areas of Greece. The overall aesthetic is something to behold, modernist decor embedded comfortably in very traditional exteriors. Extremely helpful management and staff. Helped us make our Holliday in pelio even better than it already was.

Village life!Posted Jul 10, 2016
Loved the whole Portariá village experience! The Despotiko was perfectly situated in the Volos municipality! I love a Greek village and we enjoyed our stay immensely! Great property! Perfect location! Very clean hotel and friendly staff!

Very nice traditional HOTEL in the heart of PelionPosted Oct 30, 2015
Pros: The image and the accommodation in a traditional building with a stone old fountain on the side, along with the decoration, the comfort and tranquilit
Despite that, our short-term accommodation, this hotel contributed to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area,
hidden gem of a propertyPosted Sep 26, 2015 on Hotels
Despotiko hotel is an amazing gem tucked away in a difficult-to-access corner of Greece. The room itself was small but cozy, with a gorgeous view of Volos and the bay. The 200m alley to the hotel is rough stones and very narrow, though the parking garage is decent enough -- keep in mind for those arriving by car. The breakfast was fabulous!

accessPosted Aug 12, 2014 on Hotels
The place is hard to find, especially night time. The only way to get there is by narrow winding road that is not properly marked. Call and ask for directions!!! Access to the parking is not possible for a car bigger than anavaverage European family car...

Great hotelPosted Jul 22, 2014 on Hotels
The hotel and hotel staff were great. Comfortable clean rooms and bathrooms. Only complaint is the location. If you plan on staying here rent a car and be very comfortable driving a stick shift. Portaria is a 30min drive from Volos and 1hr drive to the east coast. There are some restaurants in Portaria but not much else to do in this area.
