Bates Motel!

Posted May 9, 2016 on Hotels
Almost turned around and got another motel. Looks scary from the outside. Guy at check in was arguing with me that I shorted him $20. Then he found it on his desk. Never apologized. When was the last time you actually saw a room Key? The peep hole was missing so they stuck toilet paper in it so someone could go by and poke it through and see into our room. Looks like it hasn't been updated since it was built in the 70's. Was clean though.

No complaints, great rates!

The hotel is fine if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the Knoxville area. I was there for three nights and the hotel owners were very nice. The hotel is rundown and the continental breakfast is only donuts, toast and cereal, but it is maintained nicely by a caring staff. I thought the cable selection was very good and the internet was very fast. Is it going to knock your socks off, no, but it is also better than a lot of older motels.

Pleasant stay

While the Red Carpet is pretty much an average motel, there are two things (other than the excellent housekeeping) that make it a great value: Location and price. So don’t let the outside of the Red Carpet Motel frighten you away. Inside, it’s just fine.
