Place is accessible. Room is ready when we checked in. Room is clean, spacious and good airconditioning. Bathroom and clean and spacious also. Staff are friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable. Downside, limited parking space. Overall, pleasant stay.

Location is great if you don't drive 5minutes ' walk to macalister road and you can find many buses going to Komtar. Great hotel for Budget Travellers.

Good service
Staff are well trained and seem genuinely concerned that you have a pleasant stay. Rooms are clean and reasonably spacious for the price. A few KMs from the centre of Georgetown, but there's a mall nearby

Good value if you don't mind the area
Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Rooms big enough for a couple of days, and cleaned to a good standard compared to other hotels in Malaysia. Hotel located a couple if KMs from the centre with limited local amenities and noisy local karaoke until 1am. I'm not bothered by this, do would stay again

Off the beaten path but well worth the effort
A very clean, apparently family run hotel with attentive service. Our room didn't have any windows but that was almost the only complaint I could imagine for this place. There is a famous char kway teow stand immediately next door which was excellent but be prepared for a long wait. The rooms were clean, the ac, hot water and wifi worked well and there was lots of places to eat in the immediate vicinity. A lot of bang for the buck.

Friendly staff. There is kopitiam n the famous Char Koey Tiau nearby. There is laundry service at the hotel. Will definitely stay at this hotel again when I visit Penang again.

Thanks SO Hotel. Good service
Overall 4.5 / 5 Didnt expect much from a Hotel that price is so cheap But end up having a Awesome night at SO hotel. I requested Honey moon theme. And they Really did it for me. I Really appreciate it. Their service are Really good. Hotel might be abit old. But their service have make up for it. High recommended for those Looking for cheap and good hotel.

Average hotel with very basic facilities
Location is at central Georgetown, near Lorong Selamat. The room is pretty small with no cupboard and toiletries. The parking is limited but you can still park nearby shops. Not highly recommended.

Price is slightly above average for the area although it is really nice and incredibly clean. Would definitely stay here again. It is a 10 minute walk to the local mall.

Too small bed not situated properly. This made those sleeping in double bed to feel too cold while the one sleeping on the single bed was feeling hot. The bed is shaky. The ironing board is old and flimsy. The floors are bumpy.

Good stay
Due to the weather, the room was super hot, even though the aircon has been set to 16degree, we have to leave the aircon on whenever we went out, but it didn't help much if we went back in the early evening. We complained a few times, and the staff came to check the aircon too. They offered a change of the room, but we decided to stay put. We requested a fan and it was provided as per request. The room size is good for a triple room. Amber walking space, and we even can sit down to have meals. The bathroom can be improved with maybe more small racks to contain our toiletries. The best is that there is a balcony as smoking area! Staffs are excellent in their customer service. The lady who checked us in, is very patience and even let us know where to get good food. And I saw that she did the same to the group who checked in before us. Her explanation on parking was good as well. Mr Leow is also very friendly and recommended alot of good food too! We most probably gained some weight with the recommendations. The rest of the staffs are helping and friendly. Location wise, it is located in good location. Walking distance to Komtar, Time Squares, and many other places. It is very near to the Jalan Siam Char Kwoy Teow! But waiting time is really long. Overall, besides the weather, we are happy with the stay and will go back again.

You have to set your expectation right.
The front desk staff was warmth and friendly. However I have set my expectation higher than the hotel. My impression from webpage was that the family room is going to be big to accommodate 3 adults but it turned out to be too small lack of walking space after the 3 luggage was in. I was also expecting toothbrush, kettle etc. but was also not provided in the room. However, you can find water dispenser at common area but only at level 1&3 instead of all floors. The car park was very cramped and it takes a very good maneuver skill to get into the lot without scratches.

The room design is weird as the basin is outside the bathroom instead of allocated inside. Air conditioner is placed at the wrong angle and causes different temperature on two different beds(queen size too cold and single bed is way too hot). Furthermore, the soundproof is very poor. I can easily listened to what others talking outside my room especially midnight and this is annoying.
