Neat place to stay.

Had a 1920's feel. Clean. One way roads around it made it a little hard to get to but we lived or view of the bay.

Only reason did not give excellent is because railroad tracks ran behind building and our room faced tracks and trains (not often) went by and blew their horns.

Wonderful Lobby, the Rest in Need of an Update

The lobby part of the hotel which is located in the old train station is wonderful. However, when you get into the rest of the "new" hotel, which includes the rooms, it is ready for a renovation. It's a shame that they didn't take the antique theme in the lobby and carry it throughout the areas you actually stay in. Our room with the view was the view of a couple of highways. I did see manager comments on other reviews that said a renovation is in the future. Hopefully this will be a lovely hotel after that's done. The free shuttle from the airport and into the old town was nice.

Artistic Grand

Pros: Very comfortable feeling staying there.
Cons: No complaints!
Location: Good location for us!
Very much enjoyed staying at this hotel. A blast from the past being the former railway station. Comfortable, clean, quiet, and convenient to old downtown and to where we wanted to go.

This was my first stay at a Grand hotel and it was magnificent I loved it I definitely recommend this hotel.

Elegant, romantic hotel near downtown

I'm a local here and went to the Grand for my wedding night. The lobby is gorgeous! The entire building is breathtaking, with graceful fountains and decor everywhere. A relaxing reading area filled with books can be found on the quiet end of the hotel. It is close to downtown and within a 15 minute drive of the beach. Staff as incredible. Room was very clean, although the towels were very stiff and uncomfortable and the bed was a little too firm for my taste. The TV was also very small, but not a huge deal. No microwave was available in our room. The tub is wide and very comfortable. The rooms didnt seem appropriate considering the rest of the hotel, as the rest of the hotel seemed 5 star while the rooms are a 4. Overall, I would definitely come here again. What would take this hotel up a star would be improvements to the rooms in terms of comfort and appliances.

Did not see that coming!

Good value: nice hotel at a low cost. Good location: could walk to our event at Pensacola Bay Center and to historic downtown; easy access to freeway. Bad location: across the street from Pensacola Bay Center meant unnecessarily intrusive security checks entering parking lot and loud music late into the night. The worst thing was the 2:30 AM train - very loud . . . felt like an earthquake.

Disappointing

Pros: The staff was very pleasant. They always greeted us with a smile.
Cons: Everything! Please renovate!
Location: I loved the fact that the Pensacola Bay Center was across the street, I literally walked right over to the graduation I attended.
I am a big fan of booking through expedia but this experience was quite disappointing. Initially I chose this particular hotel because of the location, which was opposite the Pensacola Bay Center (convenience). This hotel needs major renovating, its very old looking and the room was very stuffy. The hotel is better for senior citizens who would appreciate that old artifact look. Another thing was the parking, the hotel rents out the ballroom for functions and the parking lot is insufficient, they should provide suitable parking spots for their occupants. It was 37 degrees when I visited and we had to park extremely far because of their function, so imagine my discomfort walking for such a long time. I would never stay here again unless renovations were done.

Thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated. Due to being located in the historic district, the hotel is built onto the Historic L&N Train Depot, there is alot of history in the hotel. However, we will be doing some renovations in the future, so we hope you come back and see us.

Beautiful Hotel across street from Bay Center

Pros: The warm atmosphere and overall comfortable yet beautiful hotel.
Cons: I can't think of anything!
Location: The Pensacola Bay center is right here for shows and events. There are many great restaurants within walking distance, and the beach is not far.
We were looking for a hotel close to the Pensacola Bay Center as we were in town for my grandson's college graduation at the Bay Center. This hotel was right across the street! Not only was it convenient, but was beautiful and our room overlooked the Pensacola Bay. There was not need to leave this hotel as it had a great bar and fantastic restaurant. The theme of the hotel was a train station which was carried throughout. The very large lobby had a grand piano and comfy couches and chairs- very warm feeling. After the graduation, everybody gathered at The Pensacola Grand Hotel and had a wonderful celebration. We would definitely return to this hotel should we need to be in Pensacola again.
