Thank you for bringing your concerns about your bill to us, however, we can more easily address these issues at the front desk, rather than over a review. Please allow me to explain. When you reserve a room on a credit card, that card is pre-authorized for the first night of your reservation with tax included. This preauthorization is what guarantees your room for a late arrival past 4 p.m. What that means is, it does not matter what time you come to check in, we will hold the room for you all night.. However, if you change your form of payment at check in, it can take a few days for that authorization to return to you.
Another scenario in which we may ask for your card when you have paid cash is on the occasion that you wish to pay cash for the room, but do not have enough cash to cover the room deposit. In this case, the cash payment is taken for your room, and 15% of the total bill (usually between 10 and 15 dollars for a one-night stay) is authorized on your card for incidentals. This is a standard procedure at any hotel. The 15% authorization acts as your deposit, and is released by us at the time of your departure. Again, it could take a few days for your bank or financial institution to reflect the authorization release in your account. To address the issue with the area, there is a church and apartment building located behind us, as well as the Navy Base (just 4 miles up the road) and Corry Station (2 miles away). In order to make our property feel a little more private and safe, we have installed a fence along the back of the parking lot, making the parking lot accessible at only one point which is directly in front of the office. We have also added high definition security cameras to the entire property. Thank you for letting us know of your concerns. We appreciate your business and hope you return to our hotel in the future
