Nice hotel close to the Gila Stadium

Posted Jan 16, 2018
Pros: Close to stadium and restaurants
Cons: Updating overall condition of hotel.
The location is excellent if you have to be in that area, with many dining options at walking distance. The rooms need an update, but overall, spacious and comfortable. The Starbucks downstairs is apalling, especially in terms of service.

Convenient to Arena, Entertainment & Restaurants

Posted Jan 16, 2018
Pros: It was clean, comfortable & conveniently located.
Cons: Just be honest from the start. Don't tell someone they get club lounge access & free parking at check-in and then fail to deliver on those promises.
Location: The arena, stadium, shopping, entertainment and over a dozen restaurants are all within easy walking distance. There is no beating the location.
I drove in to attend a 3-day comic con event at the Arena, and this was the closest hotel for walking to the Arena with a stroller. The staff was nice enough, but I felt afterwards that I had been lied to about several details & expenses. It started when we rolled in to the front, and were told that we were eligible for free valet parking because we had a hybrid car. I thought that was great because one of the problems I had with booking the place was the stiff parking fee they charged. When we checked in, we were directed to the 10th floor and told that we would be able to enjoy the Club Lounge, which included a light breakfast and a complimentary beverage at night. I figured that would help offset some of the huge difference in price we paid versus my friend who paid half as much down the street at another hotel. After the first night's stay, I went in the morning to check out the lounge & grab some pastries, but my card did not work on the door. I could not get in. I went to the front desk and asked if something was wrong with my card and was told I did not have access to the Club Lounge after all. Disappointing AND embarrassing. I began to get suspicious about the "free" valet parking for hybrids so I asked the valet and was assured that yes, indeed, it was free for hybrids. When we checked out, however, we had $45 in parking fees @ $15/day. If I had known that in the first place, I would have parked for free across the street, no valet. Lies, bait & switch.

Convient but stingy

Posted Jan 9, 2018
Pros: Convenience
Cons: Be more generous and accommodating with what is included in the room rate especially the breakfast as described above.
Location: Out let shopping, dining and sports stadiums.
My stay at the hotel was a result of a conference being held in the ballroom. It was nice to not have to commute to the meetings and the close proximity to shopping and dinning made the stay enjoyable. We were disappointed with what felt like stinginess that tainted our otherwise pleasant experience. I purchased breakfast to be included in my room rate. At breakfast there were some very unusual limitations inferred and realized. When ever have you experienced coffee or orange juice as an either or option? Keep in mind this is supposed to be a five star facility. It was inferred that we could only have the buffet rather than select a la carte items or have eggs to order. The last day of our stay there was no buffet as the census was low but when we were given the menu again it was you can have eggs and toast but don't select other items. I ordered eggs Benedict and my waitress said well I don't know if that is permitted but I will put the order in and see what they say. I was stunned to think that we had been given a menu but being treated as third class citizens after staying in the hotel for six nights and paying for breakfast to be included. Also be ware that the wiFi is only complimentary in the lobby and charges are extra for in your room service. I can name a number of three star hotels who provide breakfast and wiFi and are more than generous in attitude and actions.

Would like complimentary coffee in the morning. Pools were dirty. They need painted or cleaned. Indoor pool needs some plants. Very sterile looking. My iPad was stolen. I left it in the room and when they went back to look for it it was gone.

Great location for sporting events!

Posted Dec 30, 2017
Amazing location right by Westgate restaurants, bars and AMC. Some retail and fast food close by. Conveniently located across from Gila River Arena! Parking is not free at this hotel as claimed. It is $15 per night. Rooms are clean and spacious with a 90’s concept still.

Everything was good, except the fact that the maid didn't service our room. We were gone the entire day, we saw the maid in the hallway when we left but when we returned at 9 pm the room hadn't been done. We've stayed at alot of hotels and this is the first time this has ever happened to us........wife was not happy.
