Good location

Posted Jul 25, 2016
Pros: Location.
Cons: Breakfast could be improved.
Location: It was in the old part of Assisi so that was very good.
It was a bit of a challenge to find. It was fine for a one night stay. There was a good restaurant for dinner next door. The breakfast was not very good - a lot of packaged foods, no fruit, no cold cuts/cheese/boiled eggs.

Nice B&B

This is a nice B&B in a good location. I would stay here again. Owner doesn't speak English but that wasn't a problem.

Cute hotel in great location

Posted Apr 26, 2016 on Hotels
Stayed for 2 nights at Lo Scudo in Assisi. Cute hotel very close to Basilica of St. Francis, good location to a lot of shops and restaurants as well. Room was small but bed was comfortable and tv worked fine. Breakfast was good, homemade croissants you could smell when waking up! Yumm!! Owners were very nice & did their best to communicate with us English speaking Americans.

"Home-like" hotel in Assisi...

Posted Oct 19, 2015 on Hotels
Lo Scudo is a very short walk to The Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi. The hotel itself is rather "home-like"...almost like you are staying in someone's guesthouse...it is a small hotel, very quiet...there is no elevator, so one has to walk up a small (width) spiral stairway, which, if you have heavy luggage can be cumbersome. The two ladies who are at reception are friendly and helpful, even though they speak no English...good for the price.

Well placed but won't stay there by choice

Posted May 24, 2015
Pros: Good location. Nice staff. Acceptable price
Cons: Something should be done to improve the status of the showers! At least put some curtains, some rubber delimiters for the water,...
Location: well located between St Francesco and the commune place. Near a great pizza place "Monaci".
The hotel is well located, between St. Francesco and the commune piazza. It is acceptable given the price and all. My main problem was the bathroom: it is basically impossible to shower there without wetting the whole bathroom. It is just a shower placed behind the door of the WC, so you have a small corner to shower with no curtain or borders or anything reasonable. The external door is closed at night, so impossible to get out early if you want to. Oh and english could be a problem especially if you don't understand italian.

Good to Go

Well, this hotel is old hotel in the old city of Assisi. The owner is very nice (but, no english). Old bathroom door makes my teenage daughter locked in for twenty minutes. Breakfast room is very good. Food is not bad. Overall, this hotel is not the best one. But this is Assisi, I enjoyed this old hotel.
