"Highly recomended"
It was a quiet time at the hotel at the end of january. Nonetheless all the facilties whcih we required were availible to us and breakfast was more than adequate. The staff at this hotel were superb and this is what really made our stay enjoyable. They were freindly efficient and willing to assit in what ever way they could. Our room was excellent with its own cooking facilties and was cleaned everyday.

"Met at the train station by the owner"
The NY B&B is a cheerful, conveniently located, inexpensive choice of lodging in the attractive seaside town of Pescara. Just a few blocks from the beach and equally close to the main shopping district and the train\bus station, it is one of two B&Bs with the same attentive owners. My room, on the second floor, included a private balcony, which I greatly enjoyed. The breakfast room is self-serve, with all necessary items stocked and a frig and cooking utensils for any who would wish to cook meals or provide their own "happy hour." Recommendations for two excellent fish restaurants within walking distance, both of which offer special rates to B&B guests.

"Glad we chose this hotel."
We were only staying 2 nights at first then we changed our plans and booked another before our original stay and the young lady on reception put the 2 booked together and gave us room 505,supposedly the best in the hotel. You get a smart key card which powers things in the room and lets you into the car park. The card like I said powers the A/C and the small mini bar/fridge that could do with being bigger, the A/C struggles with day time temps but needs turning down at night,I may have not have got the settings right,so who knows. The bathroom is really nice with a large shower cubicle but...they supply those horrible square toilet tissues, they need to change those. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, the reception staff especially, they even let me use their computer to check in online for our return flights and helped me print our boarding passes. The breakfast buffet though all cold has plenty of choice even a micro if you need to warm anything up.In late season the restaurant only opens Mon-Thurs,also in late season the check out is 12:00.The wi-fi is very quick but you need to keep signing in if you don't use it for a while. The price of the beach was 8 Euros for 2 for all day which is only a short walk away.

"One night stop off."
We were travelling from Como in the north to Ostuni (Puglia) in the south and needed a one night stop off. Hotel Maja was great. They accommodated our Siamese cat without any fuss. We had a room facing the sea with a balcony. The weather was atrocious, but in the summer it must be lovely. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

EKK Hotel

Strada Lungofino, 185, Citta Sant'Angelo 65013 - Map
"If you like Italian eclectic style…"
I chose the EKK hotel because I had previously eaten dinner in the first incarnation of the restaurant two or three years ago. It was one of the best meals of my life -- but, alas the chef is gone and the replacement is just so-so. The hotel itself does its best under the circumstances -- a remote (but very quiet and agreeable location, although not scenic), a converted facility that is now a hotel, and its insane decor in the bedroom. I can't imagine what the decorator was thinking when he/she put up a wall of fiery red wallpaper with huge, modernesque flowers -- roses?? It reminded me of the stage play from some years ago -- "The Little Shop of Horrors." Except for this enormous mistake that prioritized what some would consider chic contemporary Italian design rather than a peaceful, restful decor, the hotel was pleasant enough. The staff could not have been more helpful. The included breakfast was abundant, especially for Italy. Be sure to have some Pecorino cheese and bread! Parking abundant and free. No charge for (slow) Internet, but at least it worked. All in all, the EKK seems like a hotel that had a grand vision for itself which has simply not materialized. You won't go wrong here plus you will have "fun" driving or taking cabs to somewhere where things are happening.
