Peschici Vacation Packages

Relax on long sandy beaches, swim in the stunning turquoise sea and visit historic religious sites in this beautiful coastal town.

Peschici overlooks the Adriatic Sea from a tall, rocky promontory; its whitewashed buildings spread down a slope all the way to the golden stretch of sand below. Wander the historic center and admire the collection of pretty buildings, including a church dedicated to the patron saint of Peschici. Take in spectacular views of the pine tree-dotted coastline.

The old town is a maze of alleys lined with historic buildings, shops, traditional pizzerias and cafés serving gelato. For fish straight from the sea, dine in restaurants by the traditional wooden fishing platforms along the coast.

Stop at the Purgatory Church (Santa Maria del Suffragio). Look for an exquisite artwork on the ceiling, which depicts purgatory, heaven and hell. Another fascinating religious building is the Church of Saint Elias. Notice the Latin inscriptions above the church’s crucifix.

Find the Chiesa Madonna di Loreto along the coast road to Vieste, about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) away from the medieval core of Peschici. Legend says that fishermen built the shrine in the 16th and 17th centuries to honor Our Lady after they survived a violent storm.

Head to nearby Gargano National Park for excellent outdoor activities, such as cycling, hiking, horse riding and birdwatching. Stretching across about 300,000 acres (120,000 hectares), the park encompasses picturesque mountain and coastal areas, and is crisscrossed by trekking and biking trails.

The coastal resort town of Vieste is just 14 miles (23 kilometers) from Peschici. Venture here to explore its pristine Blue Flag beaches, historic sites and shopping areas. Other popular daytrips include a boat journey out to Isole Tremiti, a trio of beautiful islands set amid the warm waters of the Adriatic.

Peschici is located in the province of Foggia. It is about 111 miles (180 kilometers) from Bari International Airport. Stay in luxury oceanfront hotels and less expensive self-catered apartments.

With traditional Italian food, warm hospitality and fine sandy beaches, Peschici is a great destination for relaxing.
