Tired but nice hotel.
Staff very friendly and pleasant. Hotel looks a bit tired. We stayed on the second floor under the restaurants and could hear tables, chairs moving at gone 11 at night and 6 in the morning. Our room had horrible frosted windows so we couldn’t see out. We had booked the restaurant for our first night as liked the menu, when we arrived were told it had been changed to a buffet as a coach party in, I struggled for food choice as pork dish was mixed with clams. Chose to eat in Regua the other nights.
We were offered a switch to a river view when we checked in and it was well worth it. We got a fabulous view across to the Sandeman's estate opposite and of the river either side. The room itself was very good, decent size, quiet and comfortable.
Service was superb apart from the long wait at times to get a drink at the bar. It was worth the wait for the very comfortable lounge which had a huge picture window overlooking the Douro.
Breakfast is very good, a well stacked buffet with a wide variety of items.
Only disappointment was the restaurant where we decided to eat one night only to find a pretty poor buffet set up for a large coach party staying that night. If we had known we would have eaten at one of the many alternatives outside.
ONCE again our Hotel.com reservation has us in a lousy room! I think they figure your customer get such a good price that the hotel can give you the crappy room! The first room we were put in was so bad- you could not see out the window- there were so old that they were opaque!! We were moved to a room with a view ONLY after being unsatisfied with the first room! A lot of extra work to be their guest!!

No kettle to make coffee or tea in the room.
That is the only no, no.
Location is perfect, we had a riverside view and it was fantastic. The hotel was very clean, breakfast was excellent and the staff was very nice and accommodating. We will stay there again in our next trip to Pedro da Regua.
I was here for a quick overnight stay. The room is comfortable. The views are beautiful. The staff were all very helpful throughout my whole stay and even following up.

The property is in a beautiful location and we loved our stay. Best view! Wonderful staff. Only negative the hotel is dated. Needs a renovation and is lacking some amenities such as an iron and ironing board.
Disappointed, room was supposed to have a city view. Standard Double Room, City View but the windows were opaque. I wish I had known this I would not have stayed here if I had known I could not see the city.

A bit dated, large clean rooms , easy to get to the train station.
Beautiful views of the Douro River. Property is a bit dated but clean. Helpful staff. Nice breakfast with lots of selection. Would definitely recommend.

Good Place, Great Location and Town
Nice place to visit, you can walk from here to Quinta de Pacheca and several other wineries. Enjoyed the town, wonderful place. Hotel Regua Douro has an amazing breakfast but really falls short in that the windows need to be cleaned, bar closed, had a vacant feel even with some guests. After saying that would stay again for the price, but really, you could make this so much better with a little effort.
The room was very comfortable with a excellent view over the river, great location for station & river cruises, nice pool. Probably the worst meal Ive had in many years in the resturant.
Decoration and furnishings very 70s-80s, a little tired
Enjoyed our stay and particularly enjoyed the breakfast. Unfortunately, we got there on a Portuguese holiday and some of the facilities were closed, including the gym. We got a train the next morning and the station was right across the street.
2 night stay as part of a Douro River Trip. Ideally placed for train and bus station. Fantastic views. Very good breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff. Only quibble was the bed was hard, but only if you prefer a soft bed.
My mom and I had a wonderful time, staff was amazing, very honest and friendly, room very clean, pillows could have been better, staff giving excellent direction, we like it so much that we stayed longer, easy to get to wine tasting shops ,cab was cheap . I would go again.
Good property, great breakfast and view from dinning room, clean rooms.
Attitude of the staff absolutely not at the level of a 4-star hotel, minor facility refreshes are needed. Hospitality course for staff would be extremely welcomed.
We have selected this hotel based on other guests ratings and we wished to spend some extra Euros on the room with balcony to relax on and a river view to enjoy. We checked in, liked the room, hurried to open the balcony door and ... closed it again. The loud "music" coming apparently from some entertainment spot on the other side of the river filled the air both outside and even inside the room. Our inquiry at the reception was met with "What music?". The receptionist was probably hearing impaired already... To our disappointment we had to move to the street traffic side of the hotel. We didn't have the breakfast at the hotel so we cannot rate it. Yeah, at the checkout we were charged for the river view room. Our attempt to protest was not well received.
The hotel was wonderful. The room was lovely with all the conveniences one could wish for. The buffet breakfast, included in the room rate, was one of the best we have experienced. The staff was courteous and very helpful.
The hotel was very nice. Location was wonderful with a beautiful view of the river.
Restaurants and marina close by on the same street.
Only suggestion we have is a much needed ramp on the back of hotel for luggage and handicap.
Enjoyed our stay.
this hotel overall had everything that we were looking for - free internet in the main area, self-parking (free and we found a spot right in front), and free breakfast. it was clean, well managed, and the service was great. the rooms were also pretty spacious compared to the others (european hotels in general are very small). would definitely stay here again!
Great room overlooking the river with balcony. Fantastic breakfast and free secure parking. Restaurant was very good food and good value with varied menu each night. excellent base for exploring the Douro Valley.
