Excellent location

Pros: location
Cons: upgrades/updates needed
Location: we went canoeing in our canoe...proximity to water is a plus
Hotel needs repairs. Older and becoming run down.

Decent hotel close to downtown

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Pros: Proximity to downtown, the indoor/outdoor pool, the outside patio
Cons: A little updating could be beneficial. Access to the outdoor bar from the outdoor pool in the summer would be awesome
Location: Del Crary park is across the parking lot, downtown in walking distance,The Pig's Ear Tavern, The Only Cafe In Peterborough,The Black Horse, McThirsty's
we stayed two nights during Peterborough's summer music festival. The staff at the facility were wonderful, energetic and helpful and clearly fairly happy with their employ. Their pool is a wonderful treat, though it would be nice if drinks could be served at the outside section. It's sad to see the patio bar so close and yet out of reach. The patio itself is beautiful, and we were fortunate enough to be present during nights when a fairly decent little band took the outside stage, and for the Tragically Hip's final concert which was broadcast outside with no cover. It was also nice that they parkinglot was reserved for only hotel guests during the night of the park concert with a staff member outside ensuring that was enforced. The hotel is beginning to show it's age a little, particularly with bathroom fixtures beginning to look, not unclean, but a little dingy and hardworn. Still incredibly comfortable and a pleasant stay.

Room ok. Location good . Looks more like a motel and it's a bit run down from the outside. Not bad once you get in.

old looking beige hotel in downtown Peterborough

Posted Aug 12, 2016
Pros: pool & outdoor restaurant. Nice setting, the menu for the outdoor restaurant was great with grilled hamburgers, sweet potato fries and fruit smoothies
Cons: The decor, it really needs to be refreshed and updated, it looks way too old compare to so many other hotels, change the wallpaper, the carpet, lights
Location: it is right downtown Peterborough on the river, there is a nice boardwalk to do from there, a movie theatre just a block away, very convenient, shops.
This holiday INN hotel is quite old and needs to be really updated and refreshed with something much more modern, too much brown/beige and flower wallpaper everywhere, looks like a 1990 hotel, room door was quite hard to open as well, the red and green carpet was also very very ugly and old . The brown looking room had a fridge in it but no microwave there is a fee for getting one, the beds were really tiny (two double beds) but very fresh and confortable, nice choice of pillows. The gazebo restaurant facing the river was great , the menu was very attractive and the burgers and fries we had were absolutely delicious. The pool was great on this hot hot summer day, the kids had a blast. Nice to go for a walk from there on the boardwalk or downtown Peterborough with lots of shops and restaurants around, lots of choices for restaurants as well. There is a movie theatre just one block away, you can walk to it to watch a movie. Right downtown Peterborough. Quite loud the traffic in the morning from the bedroom window. The air conditioning in the bedroom was very convenient but so loud. The price was honestly high for what it is as no breakfast was included and this is old looking place. There is also a no frills just beside the hotel, very convenient for shopping for little things you forgot at home and little snacks. There is also a Tim Hortons just across the street that we found very convenient for our morning coffee, as well as a National sports store with lots of selection.

Great to hear that you enjoyed our Gazebo riverside patio while you were in Peterborough and that you had a chance to explore other areas of downtown. You will be happy to know that we will be undergoing a hotel renovation in the very near future which we are excited about.

Not quite as good as the ranking/reviews suggest.

Posted Aug 10, 2016
Pros: Staff
Cons: Condition of rooms and common areas
Location: Just a short drive away from a nicer area of town
Hotel is in a bit of run-down area, although along the river so does have a nice view out the back. Staff are absolutely great, though, and are definitely the highlight of this property.

Nice location.

Posted Aug 7, 2016
Pros: See above.
Cons: See above.
Easy parking, very good front desk location, good restaurant and accommodating staff everywhere. The hotel is right on the river front and there are lots of walking trails around the area. Some room reservations seem to come with a breakfast voucher but we had to ask for ours as it was not presented at check-in. The restaurant is worth while for breakfast and it has great menu option choices. The chairs however, are those cheap overseas type with poor padding. There are pillows around though that you can use so the wood framing of the chairs doesn't bite into your legs. The restaurant servers are very pleasant and help make the breakfast a nice experience. You can choose your own ingredients for an omelette or a skillet. Very good. Hallways and lighting need a freshening as do the bathrooms.
