We keep coming back to the AmericInn, when we come to visit family in the area. Nothing fancy about it, just well-run, comfortable, and a good value. The staff are very friendly, and it’s convenient having breakfast available, each morning. While we were there, sausages, eggs, and waffles were available for a hot meal, and yoghurt, hard-boiled eggs, toast, and a variety of pastries rounded out the selections, with juice, coffee, and tea. The staff took our request for a quiet room into account, and it was, despite there being two wedding parties present! Our only quibble is that the entrance to the property (which is on the outskirts of Charlevoix) is a little hard to see from the northbound road, at night, because it’s dim and partially blocked by a bush, and there are no street lights at that part of town. But since we know how to find it (heading north from Charlevoix, it’s after the intersection for the road to Boyne City; there’s a well-lit church sign on the west/left side of the road, and a less-well lit church sign on the east/right side of the road as cues that it’s time to turn into the entry road) we’ll be back, next year!
